inside info...... the reason we took Cutler is because Plummer has confided in some teammates that he intends on retiring soon(within 2 years). That info got back to the coaching staff. I guess he's sick of the mandatory lifting and all the criticism. Plummer has pretty much saved most of the money he's made so financially its not a prob.

Very happy with the way Shanny played his hand. Got a top tier player, a stud WR, drafted a TE on the first day (which we needed to do - although I wanted Klopfenstein), and, AND, we still have Lelie.

 

Maybe Shanahan thinks that relationship can be salvaged.

From what I hear, they tried as hard as they could to ship him out. Only one team (TB) would talk to us and they wouldn't give up anything. Sounds like the Broncos don't want him at all. His attitude is getting him on everyone's $hitlist. No one in the organization, from Bowlen to the janitor, wants this guy around. Doesn't want to workout with the team in the off-season either.

I like having him on the roster. We'll be a better team with with than w/o him. Depth.
