Force of Two 0 Posted May 1, 2006 No other QB since 1998 was as ready to play immediately as this guy is........Vince may have more upside and Cutler might be that tired cliche that Favre is "A gunlsinger out there trying to make something happen" but Leinert I think will be the next Boomer Esiason/Phil Simms type QB... Lions, Bills and Raiders will only wish that they didnt pass on this guy....
swamp dog 0 Posted May 1, 2006 let me guess: you're either leinhart's agent or a card fan. leinhart has a noodle arm and wants to be a movie star.

You keep calling him "Leinhart"....are you doing this on purpose or do you not know that it's Leinart?
t.j 35 Posted May 1, 2006 I agree that Leinart is probably the most NFL-ready QB in some time. That said, the teams mentioned that passed on him need long-term solutions more than they need quick fixes. Leinart isn't enough of an immediate upgrade over Aaron Brooks to take the Raiders anywhere in '06. The Bills also have too many problems to win with Leinart right away. The Lions have invested too much in Kitna and McCown to justify bringing Leinart in at the expense of other help. Interestingly, Leinart lands in Arizona where he is a good long-term answer (due to Warner's age and durability), but not needed in the short-term (as a rookie, he'll be a poor man's Warner). Manning was an elite prospect and a good fit for the Colts, who have started him since day 1. Leinart hurt his stock a little bit with his senior year, and didn't have that perfect fit ala Manning's Colts. I think if Brooks/McCown/Nall hadn't been signed, you might have seen Leinart land in Oakland, Detroit, or Buffalo. In the Raiders case, although they showed interest in Vince Young (a developmental, high-upside type guy), it doesn't seem like they even bothered to evaluate whether they'd want Leinart if he fell to them. Fumbleweed 547 Posted May 1, 2006 Based on performance right out of the gate, I would say Roethlisberger was pretty darn NFL-ready.
swamp dog 0 Posted May 1, 2006 if the lions were going to draft a qb--and i'm glad they didn't--i would have preferred cutler over matt. not even close.
Force of Two 0 Posted May 1, 2006 let me guess: you're either leinhart's agent or a card fan. leinhart has a noodle arm and wants to be a movie star. None of the above...but can plainly see that his upside is higher than all of Kitna, McCown and Ovlosky (or whatever his name is) And is him wanting to be a movie star in your words substantiated?....and his arm is good enough to play in the NFL if the lions were going to draft a qb--and i'm glad they didn't--i would have preferred cutler over matt. not even close. Keep telling yourself that....maybe youll get to sleep at night....Cutler was a loser at losing program....give me one good QB whose team wasnt at least on the up side of their record...but its okay Im sure Sims will be the next Derrick Brooks
SoloMatisse 0 Posted May 2, 2006 Im here to tell you, Leinart will be an absolute stud in the league throwing in that offense with those weapons, and anyone not seeing that just isnt trying. Ill take that weak armed punk over cannon-armed studs like Carr, Ramsey and Leftwich any day. The guy does the 2 things a QB absolutely needs to do....he puts the ball where the playmakers need it, and he wins. The overcomplication of this man's skills is one of the most ridiculous non-cases Ive ever heard of. 99TDs and 37wins.....can we keep it simple here already????.....for god's sake. Ill draft this guy in the 1st round of my keeper league with one of my 2 picks there, with Fitzgerald sitting on my team, and sleep well at night with those 2 on the squad for atleast the next 5 years.
