nothing 2 do with football but does espn spend way 2 much coverage on the red sox. they lead off almost every show with something red sox related even when the team is average over the last couple years.(talking about all the non world series years.) they dont do this with the patriots but the focus on baseball tonight.sportscenter, and the live games broadcast all revolve around the sox.

does any nfl network carrier do the same in your oponion.

my vote is 4 green bay------ how many times do we have to watch favre in prime time. its not 1996. and i hate the interview where they ask favre if hes retiring weekly.

When you have only 3-4 teams in the league anyone that gives a rats ass about I guess you have to hype them to death (especially the Yanks and Sawx). They don't even bother covering 3/4 of the league because they for the most part are just fodder on the schedule for the big $$ teams. Like we needed any further proof to show MLB is a joke. Now that the draft is over I won't watch ESPN til fall, TG for the NFL Network.

it's not like the yankees get ignored, either

good point. also, how have the red sox been average over the last few years??? world series champs in 2004 and made the playoffs in 2005. that's real average

anyway, all baseball has these days is the yankees and red sox so i would hype them too.

it's always been that way. why aren't the white sox getting the play time right now? it wouldn't matter if these two teams sucked: they'd always be forced down our throats by the east coast media. just like the los angeles dominates news of anything that happens out west.

Why is MLB a joke? Becuase the owners are allowed to sign players they want? Unlike the Socialist, Commie-Pinko NFL where everyone has to be .500 so we all feel good about ourselves. Crappy teams almost every year sneak into the SB that dont deserve it and then promptly suck the following year. Players play for each team in the league for one season because noone can afford to keep anybody. Great, great system..... idiots.

There is NO consistency in the NFL... it's mediocre football game after game. Look at the Super Bowl last year... that was one of the WORST displays of pro football ever seen. Face it, only Squealer or Seabag fans thought the game was good. It was lousy..... like a high-school level game. Clowns.

Go ahead and complain about baseball, but the bad team in the MLB are owned by zillionaires and they CAN spend money to improve the team.... if they choose not to, then thats THEIR fault not George Stienbrenners.

The two teams in ANY sport that ESPN "pimps" is Virginia Tech (College Football) and the St. Louis Cardinals (MLB).

I love it,....ESPN shows an East Coast bias for a decade, and now people are complaining about which region on the East Coast is getting more coverage? F you.

Sincerely,

California

It's also a monopoly, and the small market teams have no hope to compete with the Yankees because of geographic misfortune.

Way to be myopicly simplistic though. Given your complete lack of big-picture understanding, you should really never post about sports again.

Just a suggestion. :ninja:

The White Sox are the defending champs, the best team in baseball, in a big city like Chicago, and they get very little respect and air time on ESPN.

The Jets seem to get alot of attention from ESPN, and no one cares about that team. Same with the Knicks and Rangers as well.

But truth be told, there is an enormous local populous who do care about those teams.

I'm sure if ESPN were located in Champaign, Illinois, the Chicago teams would get more attention.

BTW, I hate ESPN.

Are you joking? The NFL is so far superior to that farce of a league that is MLB, it's not even debatable. No sheit that all owners of sports teams are filthy rich. Some will spend every penny to win and some are tight as hell with every penny. A salary cap keeps an even balance of talent thruout the entire league and prevents teams from spending too little or too much every year. What part of that don't you comprehend? Do you honestly think lettting the inmates run the asylum like in MLB is the solution? When are the Yankees ever going to miss the playoffs and when are teams like the Brewers and Pirates ever going to be competitive? The way things are now, never.

The NFL saw the whole MLB scenario unfolding back over a decade ago and had the common sense and balls to implement a cap as the players association and a few powerfull owners don't run the league with a puppett as the Commish. Baseball finally dared step on the toes of the players association and tested for steroids only after congress threatened to step in. It's a joke from the bottom to the top. Just because millions of idiots can't see thru the bs because they love the game and their teams doesn't mean sheit to me. Alot of us stopped following or enjoying it over a decade ago when things got out of hand. Call me when they implement a cap and things get interesting again

There is a definitely lack of objectivity with ESPN.

Is evident in many many ways.

Various sports personalities are compelled to talk about the roots of their success.

###### Vitale (Big East emphasis)

Stephen A Smith (Philadelphia)

Mike Greenberg cannot help but to focus on his Jets for weeks leading up to the draft and days afterwards.

But of all sports, where it is most painfully obvious of the "Boston" Connection of ESPN is College Hockey.

Each year I wait to see ESPN Hockey Selection Show when ESPN finally talks about college hockey as the NCAA tournament rolls around.

Each year the show is all about how Boston or Boston College or some other ECHA team is always, in their opinion, the favored in the tournament.

Meanwhile they barely mention teams that are located furthest from Boston.

Namely those of the WCHA.

When I enjoyed this rub by ESPN the most was in 2005 when the teams making it to Hockey Frozen Four were all from the WCHA

http://insidecollegehockey.com/6History/ncaa_05.htm

For once more the ESPN coverage emphasis during the NCAA Selection show were on teams from the east. Little mention of the WCHA teams.

Even though the returning champ, from the WCHA, Denver , was a #1 seed.

Even though 2 of the other 3 #1 seeds was from the WCHA.

So ESPN can go jump in a lake for all I care. Their opinion means little to me.

That is right Berman, you are a punk.
