GobbleDog 997 Posted May 4, 2006 So anyway, for me not having 1 clear cut choice in my home state, and my dad not liking either team in the state as well I had no real draw to any "home" team so I just went with one that looked good and have stuck by the team ever since. That is a clear violation of the unwritten fan rule. Please return your "We're #1" foam finger and team coozey immediately.

Pick one of those craptastic OH teams and be loyal. And what's with all the manlove for Elway. I think he's been mentioned twice in this thread. I never really forgave him for punking the Colts like he did, even though I'm not a Colts fan. It was just a classless thing to do.

Is Elway the guy who said he absolutely refused to play for the Colts in order to keep them from drafting him? If so, I agree, that is kinda cheesy.

I don't know the exact circumstances of Elway's refusal to play for the Colts but I suspect he had a good reason. He also told them before the draft that he wouldn't play for them. I've never seen him do anything else classless so I have no reason to believe this was an aberration in his character. As for the manlove, it couldn't be that he's one of, if not, the best QB's in the history of football could it?
Dr. Octopus 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Ask all New Yorkers that don't root for the Bills... The Meadowlands is a hell of alot closer to NYC (about 15 minutes) than Buffalo.
Wyatt Earp 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Agreed. Pick one of those craptastic OH teams and be loyal. Why be loyal to a team because I was born near them? Not to mention changing team affiliation would be worse in my eyes.

You're right that you can't jump on the home team bandwagon at this point, but you're also not allowed to be a true fan of the team you like because you have no affiliation with them other than "well, i just sorta picked them out one day". You're going to need an attorney.

Looks like I have no choice but to move to Denver and pay my dues for 5+ years so I can be a fan Until then I'll just settle for being a wanna be fan I guess (although I'm probably more loyal than most of the true Bronco fans)
atllaw06 0 Posted May 4, 2006 I've always rooted for the Dolphins even though I've never lived in Miami. I went down there for vacations a lot growing up and it just kind of happened.
