Could turn out to be the steal of the draft for you. The guy has shown a few years back he can get it done when given the chance. Im psyched for you with that pick. Getting a starting RB that late is tough to do, let alone a starter for the Colts.

Sorry but you Have to go with DeAngelo or Maroney here.

DeAngelo is my pick but if you dont believe Maroney is nice.

Perhaps then you can trade Martin for Dillon and even move up a pick if he's thought highly of by the owner.

Foster is talented but do you really think that high powered running game wont handle a decent RBBC? Do you really think Foster has the capability to be anything more than an early season headache?

Fix it now man.

I am thinking DeAngelo too.....I know how brittle Foster is, how much Carolina runs the ball and how good DeAngelo is. I think I can take DeAngelo here and if Rhodes still falls I pick him next round.

Yeh, i like it. At this point i thought you waited too long to get RBs but if you end up with the starting RB for Carolina AND Indy, you'll win or at least have a great running game. If you get them both, and Rhodes starts as the starter, trade. Thats almost a given that he starts the year ahead of the rook.

i REALLY like deangelo williams' upside.

heres an idea. what if you could trade up, and take both rhodes and deangelo.

figure that rhodes should be a starter for at least the first half of the season, and deangelo should be a starter for at least the second half -- and either one as a starter is a near top 10 RB.

I would love to get both but it will be tough.....I have 2 options:

a) Pick DeAngelo with the 1st pick. That gives me great upside for 2nd half RB. Then pick Rhodes next. But if Rhodes is gone, then take a Chris Brown or a Fred T or even a Ahman G (they will all start at RB and play at least 1st half of season)

b} Pick the early starter first (Rhodes). Then wait for the rookie DeAngelo for next pick. Backup plan - take Maroney if DeAngelo is gone as there is equal chance Maroney too starts with Dillon's issues. With Curtis M having a bye week in week 9 and guaranteed to start season, I will have options.

I am even thinking about Ron Dayne. No way Tinker Bell gets more than 10 carries a game (too many short stuffs for Shanny to handle him), and injury problems too with him. Also, I see Dayne getting the goalline carries too.

Chris Brown + Lendale White might be a great combo too, but not sure if that O will get many goal line chances (If Mcnair gets back there, then it will be different).

i think this shows why i felt you shouldve waited on Qb... i really think palmer would still be there, and youd have gotten a much better RB, but thats water under the bridge.

you dont think you could trade up into the bottom of the 6th to get dom rhodes?

if you can only get one, i definitely recommend deangelo williams. i think the moment foster goes down, deangelo becomes top 10 and even higher in that offense. especially with your team, where you have two older guys who will wear down as the year goes on, you need the young legs for the second half of the season. having rhodes start for the first half doesnt help you a lot unless you trade him. but having deangelo to step in as a stud right when cumar or tiki misses a few games is HUGE.

Actually, one guy already told me he would have picked Palmer with his early 5th rounder so no, I would not get him. I prefer this option where I have the upside of Palmer vs an upside of a Tatum Bell. He was mad when I picked Palmer

I am trying to trade down (giving up my 6th and 8th for 2 early 7ths.....7.03 and 7.05). That could net me 2 RBs like Rhodes + DeAngelo/Maroney.

i dont like the idea of trading down. i see rhodes and deangelo head and shoulders above the other options. if you trade down and miss those two, i think it will be a severe hit. jmho.

I went ahead and picked up DeAngelo. The thought of Foster never being able to be a 20+ carry back and the thought of him being out with an owie sooner than later hit home to me.

What is funny is the dude who traded away the farm for Shaun Alexander picked Lee Evans as his #2 WR after Deion Branch as his #1....OMFG

Last year Foster carried the ball 205 times, while Davis had it 180 times, and this was after Davis was done for the year after wk 13

Hopefully, DeAngelo is getting it 200 times this year too.

Trying to move up, but have no issues waiting. At this point I do not mind taking Ahman Green as starter either if Rhodes is gone. All I need is one RB2, and between Green, CMart and DeAngelo, I will find it IMO. Except last year. Green has been very good in years past and he catches the ball a lot too. With Walker gone, they are gonna need Green more.

i agree that ahman would be a solid pick this late as well, but i have a hard time believing he'll be there. i guess one of him, rhodes, and maroney should be there at your pick since youre only about 8 spots away.

what do you have brewing at WR or TE? any WRs slipping through the cracks that you might need to snatch up?

ps. maybe if you have a few minutes, you could go back to a few of your old "updates" and delete the huge long update. this thread has gotten pretty long, so unless youre me or scooter and have been following, its hard to stay on top of it.

So the dude that gave up the farm for Shaun A now took Branch, Lee Evans, Coles as his WR #1,2,3 despite having Rod Smith, Moose, Terry Glenn, Eddie Kennison still available

i like the ostriches, they have killer wrs and pretty good rbs, but may run into QB trouble eventually. but right now they have solid wr depth and rb depth. i like the oysters too. the bears might heavily rely on the health of palmer. without palmer, ur screwed my friend.

I really love Moose and Rod Smith as my #3 WRs (or even Keenan McCardell or Terry Glenn). I might just take a WR here and get my WRs really strong with that combo. I am going to see who has what picks, what roster and then make that call. Ahman Green or Rhodes definitely look promising too. Both can be starters for the entire year (more with Green), and in a PPR, Green can have huge upside. I can always get a Poop and Gado later (20 round draft).

coles is actually a pretty good pick at the end of the 6th. hes a #1 WR for a bounce back team who has a good history with a healthy pennington. plus he gets a lot of catches, which is good for PPR. before last season with all the jets problems, he was averaging about 85 catches and 1100 yards, but only 4 TDs. even so, thats a pretty good WR3 for your fantasy team. thats like 12 points a week.

Dominic Rhodes is still on the board, he's still on the Colts, and he'll still be the starter this year, and noone has him yet. Youve got the old boy in Martin, youve got the rookie in Williams....now, look at the guy in his prime on the best offense in football. That guy did you a favor by getting Fred Taylor and Ahman Green off the board. Now, if only someone would take those relics Smith and Muhammad away so you can think clearly......

the RBs are getting thinner and thinner and you are thinking Rod Smith? You should draft JSmith!!!! Man, as always there are oodles of WRs left. All you named plus many, many more. (Titans, Claytons, etc, etc) If you want an old guy, wait. You gotta go RB for your team and to remove from other teams.

looks like you pick one spot before the guy who should desperately want dominic rhodes. dont give him that shot. rhodes is far and away the best value left on the board. what other RBs are even close to his value and still available?

Dominick Rhodes

Chris Brown/Lendale White

Laurence Maroney

Kevan Barlow

Marion Barber III

Houston

If you do decide to pass on a RB I think you get Barlow/Barber III/Houston later. Is there a QB worthy? Or a TE that stands out?

If you miss Rhodes then perhaps you trade down. Im not sure of your roster size but you might want to save a slot for DStaley. If you trade down from where you are, not too far, and try and upgrade your next pick (3rd from now) youll have a nice grouping for the picks before what might be a RB drop-off.

The DW pick really changed your RB needs but I still think upside reigns supreme for the next couple of RB slots on your roster. A TE and QB run is soon to come Im sure.

If you trade down you can go RB, WR, RB. If you dont trade you might have to go RB, WR, not RB or WR, RB, not RB.

If accepted, please welcome the starting RB of the Indy Colts on my roster. Now, when Tiki goes on bye week 4, I will have a RB that will at least get goal line carries and probably at least 60-70% of the rush attempts.

Now this is where it gets interesting. Everybody seems to have the first two or three rounds figured out - some better than others. The late rounds are for kickers, defenses and your favorite sleepers. But who you would pick as your WR3-5 or your dream gift RB4, that's what I want to know. This is easily the thread of the month. Thanks Sweetness!

I totally agree Rhodes is the obvious next pick if available. All these rookie RBs are a total crapshoot, all very talented but all are, well, rookies. My best WW move ever was when I picked up Dominic while Edge was still being carted off the field a few years back. I also think a lot of high quality RBs were made to look like fools last year due to the overall weakness of OLs last year, so I put more weight on performance in previous seasons than I might otherwise.

I am totally with the scooter on Chester Taylor and Da Bomb on Curtis Martin. (how's that for diplomacy?, haha) The age argument in redraft leagues is just silly. After all, you only need him this year. People who keep predicting that this is finally the year Tiki or Curtis fall off make me laugh. I give Curtis at least one more solid year while they figure out if Cedric Houston is for real.

While I personally would've taken Chris Chambers and Santana Moss ahead of Jackson, that was definitely not insane on your part. I really like how your team is shaping up - I see a solid core of consistent producers so far, which gives you the luxury of taking risks later. Unlike, say, $teeler Mike who has to hit it out of the park with his top 2-3 WRs, assuming he ever gets around to picking any. In a PPR league? <_<

I kinda like what both BerthaC and the Flying Ostriches got from their blockbuster deal. Getting two of your top 5 RB picks is sweeeeet, and on the other side that's an awesome top 3 WR lineup that will win a few games all by themselves this year. Give the edge to the Ostriches for now because he found decent RB value and Todd Heap. BerthaC on the other hand is a fool if he thinks Branch, Evans and Coles will give him anything but ulcers and maybe even a broken TV.

Assuming you get Rhodes, here are the top remaining WRs I see left on the bored:

Rod Smith - I always draft him in round 2 of my keep 6 league. I love consistency and 90yds and a TD on 8-9 catches a game is very nice indeed.

Eddie Kennison - people love to laugh at me for this, but he's consistent like Rod Smith - he won't be winning any receiving titles or popularity contests, but you can plug him in any time and be confident you'll get something out of him.

Keyshawn "I dare anybody not to cover me" Johnson - Mah Panthers are creating an offensive juggernaut. Steve Smith and Keyshawn compliment each other perfectly. I'd like to see anybody try to triple team Steve Smith again. They will try and Keyshawn will make them pay.

Jerry Porter - another totally unsexy pick but stats don't lie.

Terry Glenn - Bledsoe --> Glenn = $$$. I don't see him complimenting TO like the Carolina situation, but I don't see TO hurting Glenn's value all that much either.

Matt Jones and Antonio Bryant - much has been said about them on this bored and I believe the hype on both

Eric Moulds - I am far more inclined to believe in David Carr finally blossoming than Andre Johnson. He could end up as the #1 in a halfway decent offense by default.

Keenan McCardell - yet another bland boring aged yet still money pick

That should get you through the next three rounds.

Mike is not just a stud RB theorist. He is an anti WR junkie.

I'm guessing that he doesn't like any of the WR available right now & knows there is always a team that will trade a solid WR for Tater, Taylor or Ahman. There are teams with only 2 RB on their roster thus far & Mike is gonna feast. Westbrook or McGahee twists an ankle in preseason & boom.

theres drafting value, and theres overkill. steeler dude's season is over. he blew it.

See what happens. He may get some guys like Kennison, McCardell, Antonio Bryant & Matt Jones.

He only needs two of them to put up consistent points with one good trade for a Housh type WR. If he's really lucky, Tater will blow up the first week (you know it will happen sooner or later) and he trades Bell when his stock is high. (i.e. Just before Shanny rears his ugly head and Dayne gets the job.)

Then there is the WW Boldin type that will flash in the first few weeks.

With those RBs, #1 TE and Brady...he should easily make up ground on most other team's WR numbers not named the flying O's.

He's either mental or a man with a plan.

its not like hes completely stacked at RB though. at least the other dude who traded up has a legit potential stud pair of RBs who could carry him. steeler mike has LJ and JJ, both guys with high upside but with legit question marks. theyre not going to just carry him to win after win, if he has no WR support. plus hes going to absolutely need to keep a good 3rd RB around. either thats bell, and he trades ahman/taylor for a shaky WR and is still in awful shape.... or he trades bell and gets a WR he should have drafted in the 4th anyway, and is left with somewhat shaky RB depth and still weak WRs. the only way he salvages at this point is if all his top RBs hit, and he can trade bell or jones for a stud WR within the first few weeks. and even then, he'll have a great starting unit finally but very thin, and a single injury could cripple him.

I got Dominic Rhodes with the trade up......

The dude with Shaun Alexander picked Michael Vick as his QB ...and what is funny is that he said as soon as my picked Rhodes that he wanted to pick Rhodes

Scooter - what do you think now??????
