p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2006 Boston wins 9-3 Yanks take 2 of 3 and hold a slim half game lead in the division. They were supposed to play 4 games but 1 of them was rained out. They don't play eachother again until August.
yanko 11 Posted June 8, 2006 More like the Red Sox vs the No Name Yanks. I think the Sox rather face the star studded Yanks instead.
Thin Spirit 0 Posted June 8, 2006 I'm watching this while waiting for the rain in Baltimore to stop. ...and we're underway
p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2006 This team reminds me of the 95 Yankee team. I'm sure they'll make a move or two soon enough. I listened to the interview with J.Torre today and he mentioned that B.Cashmen is looking. As B.Williams goes BOOM! It's 2-1 Yanks.

There cant be much, and there isn't much from what I've heard. They maybe have enough to get a quality starter, but they are starting to get alot of holes on this ball team. Mike Francesa from WFAN says that the Yankees farm system has a lot more talent down there than in previous years. He was talking about a pitcher they have that is supposed to be really good. I have no idea because I havn't followed it that closely and one reason for that is because I'm actually a Mets fan. The Yankees are in 1st place and at this point in the season are ahead of their record setting 98 team. And that's without Matsui,Schefield and at the moment D.Jeter. Redsox lead 7-3 Varitek just hit a 3 run shot.
torridjoe 0 Posted June 9, 2006 Varitek. Stirling on WCBS was talking just before that about how much a Yankee killer Manny was. BS. The Yankee killer is Varitek. Always has been.
p.man 7 Posted June 9, 2006 Schefield is having surgury and isn't expected back until September. Matsui is expected back at that time too. Just in time for their playoff run. I'd like to see the Mets get another shot at them in the Series. The percentages of that happening are slim but anything could happen.

That's just the New York media hype, you try and hype enough young players and people will eventually buy the BS you are feeding them. Of all the young minor league players the Yankees have traded over say, the past 10 years, how many have turned into studs?! I'd be interested in that if someone knew where to find that info. p.man 7 Posted June 9, 2006 That's one way of taking out a player. He's hurting! That was right on the elbow. Soriano to name 1. He's on the nationals now and he's having a great season.
Thin Spirit 0 Posted June 9, 2006 Soriano to name 1. He's on the nationals now and he's having a great season. He was already a bonified MLB stud before he was traded.
p.man 7 Posted June 9, 2006 He was already a bonified MLB stud before he was traded. He was still a home grown player who still has years left to play. I'd have to check who they traded away over those years to find out how they've done/are doing. As I'm writing this Soriano just hit his 23rd hr.
