jocstrap 8 Posted June 16, 2006 If he goes to S.F does this mean Lelie #1 wr on team #2 and #3 would be Battle and Woods + lose the TE making Vernon Davis a legit top 10 te as a rook!? Oh Scooter Where are though?

mgs316 14 Posted June 16, 2006 Lelie is on most peoples FF to kill list, please don't mention this bums name unless it is bringing Chris Brown to Denver, then we can talk.

bigtuna 0 Posted June 16, 2006 i am not sure Lelei would start in SF. Bryant is the #1, no doubt. Battle is an intriguing player with his size, strength and athleticism. No doubt Vernon Davis will get serious looks in the Red area. Chris Brown is a much better player imo, and would be a huge steal for the Broncos if they pulled that off. I am not sure their is any reason why the Titans would do that deal. I still say Lelei gets moved, but its for a mid round pick, to a team that could use a WR, like NE, SD or Philly. Bryant is the #1 WR in S.F. Lelie hasn't even proven he can be a "good" #2 receiver. Mentioning him as a potential #1 WR is a joke.
football_scooter 0 Posted June 16, 2006 I agree. Bryant is the #1 WR in S.F. Lelie hasn't even proven he can be a "good" #2 receiver. Mentioning him as a potential #1 WR is a joke. Agree - Bryant has a skill set that Lelie doesn't - he's bigger, more athletic, better blocker and has better hands. [homer]I'd actually be sad to see this as a fan. Battle is a fan favorite and is one of those driven, undersized receivers who plays bigger than he is and makes all the routine catches that are taken for granted but get 1st downs and keep drives going. I'd much rather have the Niners roll with Bryant/Battle/VDavis/EJohnson in 2 TE sets and let the chips fall as they may. I fear that adding Lelie adds a big-play threat, but also a guy who's inconsistency and apparent poor route running can be a drive killer. I've had him in FFB for years and have seen a lot of his play. I've seen wide open downfield looks get utilized and *brick* right off his hands for sure-thing 60 yd TDs. I can live without that - I know Turner likes using the run to set up the deep ball and that the WCO is all but dead in SF, but Bryant has plenty enough deep speed, and VDavis should be a comparable threat as well. Lelie would be a "nice to have" but not a "sell the world to get him" kind of player, and I'd prefer him as a WR3, to be in on 3rd downs. [/homer]
Larry David 20 Posted June 16, 2006 Yeah that's all they need, Chrissy Brown. For all the crap this guy gets about being soft, he finished 20th overall in rushing attempts last year which is pretty impressive when you consider that he was part of a RBBC for most of the year and was on a team that was constantly playing from behind. I'm a huge Chris Brown fan and I think the Broncos would be lucky to have him.
