Supreme Court Eliminates "No-Knock" Rule

Recommended Posts

Random cavity searches?? :first: The topic is about having a warrant, which means it is signed BY A JUDGE saying the officers have PROBABLE CAUSE. From your last sentence, you should stay away from this crap. You know nothing about it. SNAP. :D

Are you saying that bad warrents are never issued BY A JUDGE? Are you saying that the officers PROBABLE CAUSE is never wrong? Are you saying that the officers always go to the right address?. From your last paragraph you should stay away from this crap. You know nothing about it. You may very well be part of the problem. SNAP -80- stupid cops have kicked the wrong door this month. :first:

I understand your point, but I think he is allusing to the unkept promise lost to efforts of securty. His argument is valid, but you also bring up a valid point.

I would submit that the threats we must currently face preclude the implementation of that most purest form of liberty, and require that we subjugate certain aspects of liberty.

It is unfortunate.

Try reading the Constitution, and maybe a little bit of Thomas Jefferson.

Keeping in mind that the framers built the document to allow for changes for those circumstances for which they could not possibly forsee.

We live in, to steal James Brovard's term, an "attention deficit democracy." The more seemingly "small" civil liberties and rights that are taken, and the less ruckus that is made by the people in the process, the further we move towards an authoritarian regime.

At the founding of our nation, the taking of any liberty -- no matter how seemingly trivial -- would have been the talk of the day, and grounds for heated and lengthy debate. Now, the taking of a liberty -- even large ones such as the right to have a non-government-intercepted telephone conversation -- barely makes the news, and is forgotton the next time that some celebrity drives with an unbelted baby on their lap.

We live in a time where the general population would rather talk about who won Ms. Universe than the latest Supreme Court decision. Moreover, we live in a time when most people wouldn't even understand the basics of a discussion about a USSC decision.

It is a matter of Leviathon versus the public. The less attention people pay to the governement, the more it grows, and the more insidious it becomes.

Yes.

And, as previously stated, I'm the most "government watchful" person in the world. It's just that I start to notice these piling-up "little things" and the state of the country and the world and it all starts to get just a little bit troubling.
