If you draft Tatum Bell,

Recommended Posts

In the mocks I've seen and participated in for a 12-team league Tatum goes late 3rd early 4th. Dayne goes late 5th to early 7th. Last year LJ went in the 6th in my big money league(quite a steal in retrospect), however, 6th round still seems to early for a back-up.IMO Is having the Denver running game wrapped up still as valuable as in years past?

Was it a down year for the Denver running game or were there just not enough carries to go around ? With Anderson gone the backfield isn't so crowded. Will that transulate to Top 5 numbers for the starter(Bell) or will Dayne eat into his carries? Last year Shannahan was pretty wishywashy on his starting Tailback, will that continue, or will he pick a guy and ride him 'til the wheels fall off? Can either one of them handle a full load?

Lots of questions. Maybe its better just to stay away? :bandana:

I think you mean: "If you are targetting Ron Dayne should you acquire Tatum Bell too?"

Because Ron Dayne is the starting runningback for the Denver Broncos.

OR you could save yourself some stress by passing on both and maybe taking a flyer on Cobbs in the last round.

Or Vice Versa? :bandana:

What round was he drafted in?

denver/NE running backs = inconsitant fantasy players.

One vote for stay away. :bandana:

If you mean NFL draft, the fourth round.

Isn't he a rookie?

Cedric Cobbs.. drafted by New England in the 4th round, 2004. Spent last year on Denver's practice squad.

So Dayne is the offical starter? The Donkeys may really blow this year. I sure hope so, especially since I dreadfully need them to lose their first game of the season.

Orlandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Rueben Droughns.

All nobodies that noone gave a change when they were named the starters. All 1000+ yard backs.

Ron Dayne will be the next. Ron Dayne will be the starter and he will take advantage of that opportunity and he will be a great back. He was misused in NY. He isn't Brandon Jacobs. He needs 25 carries in a game. When he gets it, he will get you 100+ yards and probably score for you. The guy never got a fair shake there.

STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wall:

Mike Shanahan is an A$$$$$$$$$$$$$$HOLE !!!!!! Egotistical J-OFF is the word for this guy and I think he makes it a point that he can start anyone at RB and he'll succeed.... Last year however was the first year that the Broncos ever went "total committee" the whole year through with two backs under Shanahan... and I still think he wanted to prove he could get two Rb's with 1000 + but that came up short when Bell couldn't quite get there.... I've been involved in the Broncos run game for the past 3 years in my Dynasty League (have/had Portis/Anderson/Droughns & Bell) and I was miserable went Portis left town for Washington... Tatum Bell has just been in the way (the past 6 weeks of 2004, and all of 2005) I would like to see what Bell could do if he ever got 20 carries a game (which he's never once recieved) so NOTHING EVER SHOCKS ME WITH SHANAHAN.... everyone makes fun of Ron Dayne because they think he's an NFL bust, but it wouldn't shock me if he's Shanahan's next egotistical project.... though I'd love to see Tatum Bell get a shot to be the man in Denver..... if you're not already involved .... I say its VERY WISE to just stay away from the Broncos run game.... because you'll find yourself doing this ~~> :wall: on many, many Sundays !!!!!!

I would take Dayne in the 6th/7th round area. I won't take Bell in the 4th or the 5th or whatever ridiculous round it would take to get a backup running back.

:D I guess TD, Portis, Anderson, and Dillon never accomplised $h!t. Maybe you were simply speaking of this seasons possiblities. :P

Any back Shanny decides to hand the ball to seem to do well. Bell has been inconsistant, but that's about it.

Oh they score TD's.

But when you think they are going to play... they don't.. or the backup gets most of the carries.

When you don't think they are going to play they do.

There is inconsistant in points.. then there is inconstant for fantasy team owners. Unless you have a direct line with those teams coachs on what they are going to do the way they play their RB's will lose you a game or three.

IF you want to draft a NE/DEN rb unless those coaches change their strategy or your team is really good or your just a lucky SOB :D yourself out

p.s Why can't peopl read "inconstant fantasy players" as just that and instead have to read it as "Inconsistant players"

How about we put a bet on your prediction.......Dayne gets 1000 yards, I never post here again. Dayne doesn't get 1000 yards, you never post here again.

Deal?

Also, you're retarded.

People said the same thing about Mike Anderson last year too. I drafted him in the 5th round

I'm a gamblin man, and until Denver has a running back that starts and doesn't get 1000 and double digit TD's, I'll grab Dayne in the 4th of a 14 team league, then T.Bell in the 6th depending on available talent. Giving a lineup of Stud RB, 2 stud WR's, then the Denver boys. I could think of a much worse RBBC to have then Denver.

I got Tatum Bell in a Dynasty draft. I don't trust Shanny one bit, and my confidence in Ron Dayne is a 1 out of 10

Bell - even IF Dayne is the #1 guy, will still get you 1,000 total all purpose yards and 6-8 TD's

That aint bad at all - and if he beomes THE man in Denver ? Much, much more

First Game of the Year.

Dayne Starts

Rams 27, Broncos 17 :first:

Dayne 6 carries for 14 yards(1 lost fumble) :bench: , Bell 9 carries for 56 yards(too little, too late) :(

I took Mike Anderson in the 5th last year after Priest went down he was my #2 and he helped me win some money. After about 10 years of 1000+ yard rushers I believe in the Denver system. With the Giants, Dayne averaged about 3.4 ypc, last year with the few carries he had he averaged 5.1 ypc. It has very little to do with Dayne he was the same running back with both teams. Like last year we will not know who the starting RB for Denver will be until a few weeks before the start of the season. But I believe it will be similar to last year. Shanahan will use the bigger back to start the game then use Tatem for speed in the late second and third then back to Dayne to punish the defenses when they are tired in the fourth (at least that looked like what was going on in the few games I watched). Both will be close if not over 1000 yds, but Dayne will get more TD's at the goal line.

Have a great 4th of July
