NAn 39 Posted July 7, 2006 Some friends and I were talking the other night about NFL players and being a bunch of criminals (surprise that the parties defending themselves were 2 raider fans and a 1 cowboy fan ). So let's run with that... Last consensus has US population at near 300mil. Reported crimes at near 12mil. That's 4% of criminal acts to persons in the population. NFL has 32 teams with 70 per roster? That's 2140 players. 4% would be 85.6, let's say 86. Is the NFL indicitive of the US population crime-wise? Better?Worse? Let's list them and see: R.Droughns-Assault N.Davenport-Defication in public place (?) R.Moss-Possession of marijuana J.Lewis-Drug charges (?) Bottles 0 Posted July 7, 2006 What's the NFL minimum salary? I think you may want to look at US figures for crimes (and possibly drug-related crimes and violent crimes as separate categories) for people earning more than NFL League minimum and comparing that with the NFL crime stats. While the NFL may compare favorably to US crime at large, it would probably not do as well when compared to those members of the US population who are as wealthy as NFL players.
