Duffman 0 Posted July 9, 2006 Where would you take this guy?? Is he worth a gamble as a solid #1? I did read up that 19 of 51 of his games were at RB. He was quite productive in the reception department. What round do you risk taking him??

What round do you risk taking him?? well assuming this is in a redraft, but i would probly tak a chance on him maybe in the late 4th-5th round....im hearing that the colts have been impressed with addai, and i dont think rhodes is the answer. another answer to ur question is NO, u cannot take a gamble with him as ur #1 RB... its even a big enough gamble for him to be ur #2 RB. Kellys Heroes 0 Posted July 9, 2006 Well, look at your options; 5th rd you have Cmart, Green, T Jones, F Taylor, and Duece. Those are the 5 guys that going around the sametime as Addai. So the question is do you want to spend your 5th pick on a rock or a vet. I think a vet.
bgard72 10 Posted July 9, 2006 You have to see what happens in training camp. Best case scenario is that he has a season similar to Caddy and/or Ronnie Brown last year. I think he's got the best chance out of the rookies to do it. DeAngelo Williams may be a close second. I would take Addai as a #3 RB on your team right now without knowing that much yet. Cuse9 129 Posted July 9, 2006 Rhodes and Mungro have proven that they are capable of being good in that offense so there is no need to put a full load on Addai. I would think the best thing to do with Addai this year is take him as your third or fourth back and wait and see what happens. If you can handcuff him with Rhodes I think that would be the best thing to do. As for relying on him as your #1 or #2 back.....scary, very big risk. He'll go early in most drafts. That is why I probably won't draft him at all. In keeper leagues he is worth an earlier round pick. Like the other guys have said....wait until training camp and a few preseason games to see what the rb situation looks like in Indy.

LSUtiger 9 Posted July 9, 2006 Addai= JJ Arrington While I am indeed a homer, you are way off on this one bud.
biggtyme13 0 Posted July 9, 2006 Josheph Addai is going to see the field alot hes a better blocker than RHodes and THe colts didnt use a first rounder on him for nothing. Id take him as your #3 and look for him the end up being a nice #2 runningback this year.
SoloMatisse 0 Posted July 9, 2006 JJ Arrington?? Cmon, isnt that the runt that tore up the Pac 10 for 2000yds 2 years ago, was named 1st team AP All American and now is lining up as 2nd string waterboy? What an insult.......... Addai is a RB for the Colts last I checked, and theyve got a pretty good offense, so I think if I drafted Addai, Id do what I could to get Rhodes also. There are many RBBCs this year, so if you must got committee with a RB option, I can think of worse ones than the Colts...............
ellisonb11 0 Posted July 10, 2006 Addai= JJ Arrington totally off here i believe. Cards o-line much worse than the Colts o-line.
JoeRedneck 3 Posted July 10, 2006 totally off here i believe. Cards o-line much worse than the Colts o-line. Im not saying that the Edge will be as good in the desert. But I dont see that much of a dropoff. He had the passing attack of the Colts to open up the run.But Arizona passing game pretty good as well.Arizonas O-Line aint as bad as you think

No way.I would take Addai before any of the "Vets" you mentioned. But that's just me.I think all the Vet backs you listed are just as risky,if not more so than Addai. And out of all of them,Addai is on the best team by a longshot.JMO
duaneok66 0 Posted July 10, 2006 Pass on Addai; he gets hurt way too much to be wasting a 4th/5th round pick on . . .

Plus I think he is head and shoulders above what running backs they have now. Martin will rebound.

I sure don't see this guy going JJ Arrington. Excellent opinions fellas.

Their is no word on how much Addai will play this year. So what I was saying is I rather take one of the "Vets" w/ a cheap handcuff; that way I know who starting every game and I know it won't be a RBBC. Except for Duece of course, who knows whats going to happen there..

Young runners tend to rely less on their blocking, try and hit the hole as quickly as possible, and just use speed to outrun defenders. Edge was terrific when he got into the second level of defenders, and wisely used what he had to maximize his YPC. The real key this season is IF Peyton Manning can sell the play action passing game without Edge. Defenses could play pass first, not even care about the run, and go after Manning on every play (Pittsburgh and New England have been real successful at it recently). I think Tom Moore is in the midst of reinventing this offense (from what I've read, alot of closed door practices this offseason). He's at that point where he has to. dreadlocks34 0 Posted July 11, 2006 I find it interesting how high everyone is on this guy. Dominic Rhodes was pretty darn good when he filled in for Edge last I remember. Also Dungy and Peyton Manning both admitted that Addai wasn't even the guy they wanted in the draft, Maroney was.
Raider 84 29 Posted July 11, 2006 Great player in a keeper league, might be splitting carries early in the season.
