Greatest Value picks ! !

Recommended Posts

QB

A. Brooks - 11th round - could easily be a top 8 QB or better with a healthy Moss , Porter , Curry ! Would allow most to wait on a QB to Round 11 !

B. Favre - round 10 ! The man has little running game an will be passing most da game ! IMO Favre is GREAT Value this season

Can go QB-QB in rounds 10 and 11 and be set !

RB

C. Martin - Late 7th round - Granted he is 33 but hes the one an only RB in NY Jets ! As long as he can handle it he's going to get 20 touches or more a game and be da feature RB. Granted hes risky but in the late 7th round to get a certain starting RB that likley will NOT be pulled at goal line and likley WILL stay in the game in most 3rd downs becasue he is a great blocker and reciever.

F. Taylor - late 7th round - Again a starting RB in late 7th round is tough to beat ! Unlike Martin he will get pulled at goal line but still he should get the lions share of carries although Drew might get worked in on 3rd downs.

D. Foster - late 5th round - A starter for a Superbowl contender that has a chance at getting all the carries - feature back/ goal line / and 3rd downs ! In the late 5th is sweet.

L. White - late 10th round ! - LenDale White is head an shoulders above Chris Brown in overall talent and IMO should beat out Brown in TC . Sure Vrown will get the 3rd down plays but White will get all da goal line attepts and IMO most of the carries.

R. Dayne - Middle 8th - Shanny all 05 pre season said Mike Anderson was starting - noone bleievd him - Well Anderson started and a solid season ! This year if shanny keeps his word again I see no reason for that trend not to continue. Dayne actually looked really solid last year in limited duty.

WR

Rod Smith - late 9th round -- All he does is get top 10 - 15 numbers year in and out as Plummers go to guy. But he un sexy in FF and everyone passes on him. This year he should gaain be the main t6arget on the broncos with Walker coming back from a ACL. late 9th for a solid 2nd WR is great !

Matt Jones - late 11th ! For a TD stud in the making this is unreal to get this guy this late. he was clearly gelling with Leftwich before he was injured in 05 !

Eddie Kennison - Middle 11th - put up 2 straight solid top 15 - 20 seasons and a decent 2 WR and a great 3 WR. getting him in the 11th is robbery !

Donte Stallworth end of da 10th round - was clearly NOLA's best WR last season. Another reason to maybe wait on WR's

Terry Glenn - 13th round - WOW he goes and has a top 15 season then becase of the TO signing he becomes a 13th round pick ? TO there might actually be great for him as he will get single coverage.

TE

LJ Smith - 10th round - Eagles got noone as WR's and LJ is the greatest weapon other than their RB on the offense. McNabb loves the TE especially w/o Owens as he doesn't seem to trust his WRs.. in the 10th round to nab IMO a top 8 E is very nice.

Ben Troupe - late 14th round - Anyone look at the TE stats for Tennessee last season ? tennesse feature the TE and Ben figures to be the feature TE in 06 and should no finally get the kiopns share of receptions. possible top 8 TE in round 14 !

K

L. Tynes - 17th round -- Plays on a potent offense and is now averaging a final round selection.

D/ST

Cincinatti Bengals - 16th round - led the league in ints in 05 and can be had for a final round selection !

Some of the projections seem a little late to me, you drafting for an 8 team league?

No ! - 12 team Average according to Antsports !

Not bad if you drop Fragile Freddy.

I realize but he is a starter and when he plays he usually does well so to get him in the late 7th IMO is really good.

Moz...I think that has to be off....I dont see it as plausible that Foster is available for me in the 3rd Round of your draft and certainly dont think he will be available in Round 4 (Adjusting for keepers)

while thats what they are listed for not all go that late

Brooks and Favre.... sure

Foster is a 4th in 10 teamers, Martin and Taylor a bit later

nobody but Kennison are near those, even in 10 teamers....

trust me, it all sounds nice but is very different IRL

I am just going by antsports averge info ! While it might not be exact i can't really see it being that off ? :ninja:

Not unpossible -- unlikley i agree but Deangelo is scaring many off.. Who knows. IMO in our draft i expect the run on WRs to be fast an furious early and IMO RBs fall a bit farther than some expect - who knows though.

Moz, run a more recent query on Ant and you'll see that the #'s on Jones are off, he's climbing up if you run it from 7/1. Also, don't put a lot of faith in mocks, people don't care about bye weeks, handcuffing or consistent production...and over half of those picks get made by computer control, which isn't factored in to the ADP for someone picked by the computer, but it throws off the ADP of all those who weren't picked by comp. It tends to leave better players available late than would be normally. Here's an example, when i wasn't paying attention and went on compcontrol and it gave me Aaron Rogers at the 3rd QB on my roster (which i would never pick) in the 12th round. That left another descent player there for somebody else to pluck.

My value pick is Joe Jurevicious. 13th round pick who will the teams #1 WR for the first few weeks (with Braylon out), had 10 TD's last year / is a big red zone target with great hands, and is a Cleveland native! I'd say that screams of value pick.

Some of these guys may have moved up in the past month. And you should only use draft info from the past month at the most. According to antsports (12 team, HP, Flex TE Req):

Foster- 4.06

Martin- 6.11

Dayne- 7.02

Taylor- 6.09

White- 9.03

Jones- 9.02

Stallworth- 8.09

Seems you might have used older info or some non typical settings.

Good list, here's some feedback w/ another value play thrown in:

QB

Brooks: I agree, he has a terrific supporting cast & I expect top 12 numbers.

Favre: No thanks, @ -3 pts for interceptions, Favre hasn't been on my radar for a while now. Additionally they are installing a new offense that Favre has admittedly had some trouble with.

Value player I'd add: Chris Simms - Gruden's O produces quality FF QB stats.

RB

Martin: He isn't the only RB playing for the NYJ and the new coaching staff are more concerned w/ results than loyalty. He is a value for where you can get him... but I don't expect much from him.

Taylor: Game time decision every freakin' week.

Foster: Agree! His potential is worth the risk imo.

White: I strongly disagree here... Brown is a talented RB.

Dayne: He's worth a shot if you have the roster room. Some one's going to be the man (Cobbs is my best guess though).

Value player I'd add: Frank Gore - Kid's got two busted shoulders & two busted knees... but I got a hunch

WR

Smith: Completely agree!

Matt Jones: I'm not buying the hype yet. I can't see how he could have developed the skills yet to be a #1 WR. I think the Jags are throwing him in way over his head.

Stallworth: Could be a good #2 for someone and is dirt cheap.

Glenn: LOVE 'EM... he's gonna thrive in single coverage!

Value Player I'd add: Issac Bruce - Has been forgotten since last years injury, still a quality #2 WR.

TE

Smith: Agree, should put up great numbers

Troupe: Agree, hopefully he'll be more involved this season

Value Player I'd add: Chris Cooley - Al Saunders is his new OC.
