ADD1CT36 1 Posted July 11, 2006 so i thought this is a good place to ask this... i have an old ibook. it's like ancient. i think it came out in 2000? runs os9 and i dont have a lot of anything on it. i really only want it to connect to the internet to check emails and update my blog. it doesnt have wireless and i'm not entirely sure how to go about doing that? or if it's even worth it? i didnt really want to buy a new laptop yet because i need to be saving some money. but i was thinking there has to be a way to connect a wireless thingy to the laptop while on the road??? ADD1CT36 1 Posted July 11, 2006 ok, so wireless usb adapters - i can walk into the store and say that? oh and toro - i thought you were on my friends list???
hoffdaddy 1 Posted July 11, 2006 ok, so wireless usb adapters - i can walk into the store and say that? Yes. So, you also want a wireless network at home? The adapter will receive the signal, but you also have to be putting out a signal. So, you'd need a wireless router too.

You do not need the router for that. Just go into walmart or any computer store and tell them what you want to do. You can get a wireless card for less than $100. I got one last year. I think it was $60 or $80.
