Small Plane Crashes Into 3 Homes POSTED: 5:45 pm PDT July 16, 2006 E-mail this story | Print this story HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Fire officials said a plane crashed into three homes in a residential neighborhood near the Hillsboro, Ore., Airport, setting two of the houses ablaze. It's not yet known whether there were casualties, or whether the homes were occupied. The crash happened toward the end of a two-day air show, and a witness told a Portland television station that the plane that went down was a part of the show. Hillsboro is about 10 miles west of Portland in northwest Oregon. http://www.kptv.com/news/9525356/detail.html I was at the mother of all airshow crashes in 1988 while stationed at Ramstein, Germany. The Italians had a mid air collision and tumbled into the crowd. I can still smell the burning flesh and jet fuel. I have not been to an airshow since.
