Computer guys - please help.

I am trying to make copies of rented DVDs and am having a heck of a time. Is there a sure-fire, no-nonsense software download that will help? What do I need to do?

I have tried:

CloneDVD - that doesn't seem to work - wrong disk types maybe?

Decrypting the DVD and then burning it - won't work

There has to be a way to get past the obvious copyright security. I can get it saved to my desktop but the quality is not perfect and then I can't convert it to the right format where it will let me burn it.

TIA

Here's what you do.

Go here: http://torrentspy.com/torrent/536404/Nero_...ition_Works_100

There's a whole list of keys. When you go to install Nero instead of the trial key use one of the keys from the above site.

Then go here: http://ww2.nero.com/enu/index.html

Download nero 7 ultra.

Install nero using one of the CD keys from the site. DO NOT USE THE TRIAL KEY!

Now you have Nero which should copy most things. But I find this: http://www.dvdshrink.org/what.html

Will copy everything. You have to have nero in order to use it.

Sorry

Go to this thread:

http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...563&hl=Nero

I posted the same instructions there and all the links work.

The expected problem just happened - I downloaded these programs and, of course, the disks are copyright protected. I found out yesterday that I CAN copy them to my hard drive but then have a hard time converting them to a format where I can burn to DVD. Next step, Cdub??

On a side note....RenoZ has only 128 mb of RAM. And he wonders why his puter hangs when he is running limewire.

Well first of all, you don't need Nero to use DVD Shrink when you have the actual media from a rental as an example. Just rent a movie for $3, and then use DVD Shrink to extract the DVD to your hard drive, and then to copy the DVD back to a blank DVD (DVD Shrink does this all for you by the way).

It works great, and it's not rocket science, just a few clicks and you are good to go. It does everything for you, including any copyright stuff. Give it a try.

:D This is from the DVD shrink site, "DVD Shrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero or if you download CopytoDVD."

HTH

DVD shrink will get around it for you. I've never had a problem burning any DVD I have... of course I buy a copy and only use DVD shrink it to backup stuff that I have...
