I have Portis a slight edge over Barber and then a couple of guys in the mix for the #6 spot.

A lot of people don't like Tiki cause of Jacobs, but if you look at my summary, 4 of Jacobs 7 TDs were a result of Tiki carrying it to the 1 yard line. I know you can't just "give" Tiki that extra yard, but look how close we are to Jacobs only having 3 TDs all last season with one of those coming with Tiki resting in week #17!

 

I had Tiki and Portis in the same league last year, Portis was good...Tiki was great.

i honestly have Barber and Edge at 8 and 9

both are on unstable grounds in my mind and just not worthy of that high a pick

 

Edge is playing behind a horrible OL and im not thrilled with Warner/Leinart at QB there and Tiki loses GL carries which hurts his TD count

Jacobs is a horrible runner... you just said it "missed his 2 runs", this is no way to back up your Jacobs factor panic. Jacobs had 1 TD the last 8 games of the season.

Coughlin still gave him the work week after week even when missing those runs that he should make easily

 

i've always known Coughlin to be a no nonsense coach that wouldn't put up with crap like this but he muist have some serious faith to keep giving hi mthose carries

Clearly it's not as simple as fans make it out to be. You think the staff casually watches from their TVs, or are they breaking down plays? Despite what fans think, the staff has a lot of faith in Jacobs. He has speed, power and runs hard, and if anything, his role will increase this season.

In a PPR go with Tiki...regular standard scoring, go with Portis

His running style is something they are working on, just like Tiki with his fumbles a couple years back. And it's not his style, it's his height that needs to be accounted for in the way he runs. He's spent the offseason reviewing tape of Eddie George as he is a similar build. But the point is, the staff doesn't agree with you.

4. Shaun Alexander- I think he is going to have a slump this season; coming off of a super bowl loss, just signed a fat contract, getting to "that age" not saying he will fall off of the map, 4th is still solid

 

3. LT- basically a rookie QB might hurt his TD numbers at least

 

2. Clinton Portis- New offensive system, he will dominate

 

1. Larry Johnson- Next in line of dominating RB; will put up the monster numbers Priest Holmes had when healthy

All the responses to enoto`s question are valid. The fact is you could take every back mentioned as possible 4 through 6, put their names in a hat and pick one. The quality of your team will more likely be determined by your middle round picks than which one of these high quality backs you choose.
