Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan said Sunday, July 30, he is impressed with Broncos' rookie RB Mike Bell. "Mike's having a heck of a camp. He really has stepped up and has been very impressive. A lot of players see him making plays that they haven't seen for awhile. He's right in the mix."

So impressed Dayne running with the first team :D

I'm sticking to what I do every year. Staying away from Bronco running backs

Yea usually the best thing to do is stay away from Denver & Minnesota rbs every year. But I would take a real late rd pick on Mike Bell because it could pay off big. Also with Shanny he is known for giving a long shot a chance at the starter possition. By the way they are raving about M Bell on the Denver message boards as well. Bell is my deep sleeper pick at rb this year.

My bad Tiki Barbers barber. I thought it was about T.Bell. So I erased my post. But I do agree with what your saying here :D

LMAO, you gotta be kidding me...well it is coach speak, but with Shanahan you never know.

(So far I've stayed far away from this ugly mess and I'm happier for it)

He has been impressing everybody in camp so far and not just Shanny. Also Cobbs is said to be out of shape and unimpressive. Bell could move up to 3 quick but its still to early to tell.

I figure M.Bell would beat out Miree for a roster spot, but I thought Denver was high on Cobbs. If he's out of shape and unimpressive, he could be put on the practice squad or cut, and M.Bell becomes a very intriguing sleeper, especially if he turns out to be better at blocking and blitz pickup than the other Bell.

Bell ringing up carries

Tatum Bell: Had taken a back seat to Griffin, Droughns, and Anderson (and maybe Dayne this year) in his career. Never had more than 17 carries in a game. Complains about his role to the media.

Ron Dayne: First round bust, though he led the Giants in carries his rookie season with 225. He's also fat. :pointstosky: But the offensive line plays like the one he had in Wisconsin, so that should help him.

Cedric Cobbs: Someone said he's showed up out of shape and unimpressive. Not good.

Mike Bell: Impressing in camp but is a rookie and admits he needs to learn how to pickup a blitz. Very important to getting playing time.

I would not want to waste a high pick on any Denver RB, but that's just me. Or maybe it isn't.

I wouldn't want to waste a high pick on a Denver rb either but will be more then happy to waste a very late round pick on Mike Bell and wait to see what happens.

wait until he trades for Duckett
lol I thought it was Barlow. Also Shanny has said recently that Maroney will be the best rb in the league in a few years. So maybe he is talking to the Pats as we speak.

There's no way the Patriots would do that. They would be aiding a powerhouse within their conference. The Pats don't want to have to face Maroney behind that Broncos o-line in the playoffs. Secondly, Dillon is nearing the end of his career and Maroney was brought in to be the guy to replace him when that time comes.

He did say that about Maroney but I was only joking about them making the trade. What gets me about Shanny is how he always said one team or another got the steal of the draft when they drafted a certain rb. If Shanny is so high on these guys why don't he draft them himself?

I think I remember him also singing Kevan Barlow's praises when he was drafted. Which is funny when you consider they had two chances to draft him that year. (Though now that I remember, Terrell Davis, Mike Anderson, and Olandis Gary were still with the team at the time)

The Denver Post has a story on Mike Bell as well. The article points out that Bell has been running with the 3rd team offense with Jay Cutler against the 3rd team defense.

It seems that he is making an impression but he is doing so against players who probably will not make the roster.

The 3rd string refernce is under the Cutler part of the article.
