Fumbleweed 547 Posted August 24, 2006 Considering Mike Bell isn't even guaranteed 100 carries this year....um.....Warrick Dunn, please.
ellisonb11 0 Posted August 24, 2006 warrick dunn no question. no more duckett, so dunns production will increase. bell i predict will be inconsistent, and tatum will be working in eventually too. id much rather have dunn.
sharkie22 0 Posted August 24, 2006 If Dunn is still available you may still get a second shot at Bell depending where you're at in the draft order. I'd take Dunn because Shanahan has changed up with his backs too many times and I've been burnt by that enough.
Ras66not99 0 Posted August 24, 2006 If TJ Duckett was still on the team then I would have said this is a valid question... Why delve into into the Shanahan Shenanigans if you don't have to ?

I don't know, just because Duckett was traded doesn't gaurantee Dunn gets the GL carries. Norwood or Crockett could gets those. I think we all assume Dunn will get those. But I question whether Mora will take his 30 something back and add more touches to him. Dunn is getting up there in RB years and I'm not 100% sold on Dunn getting increased touches at the GL. However, Bell doesn't come without questions either. I simply don't believe in Tatum enough to think Mike won't get the GL carries. Mike looks like the real deal as of today, but we all know how that could change in 5 minutes. I'd say give a slight edge to Dunn in a redraft league. A better edge in PPR leagues. And Mike Bell in keepers.

At this point I guess he can't really come out and publicly announce they'll go to their rookie or at least not until the season starts. urmother 0 Posted August 24, 2006 i can't imagine any set of league rules so warped that i would take m. bell over dunn.
Kitsnow 0 Posted August 24, 2006 Sure you can. If they declare your RB a starter for the game but he doesn't get the most carriers your RB gets +15 points. Or you play him and he's not the starter and he gets the most carreis +15 points Would mean everyone would be after NE and denver Running backs.

There's pretty much a handful of gaurentees this year (if that), and everything after that is a risk.... I like Mike Bell don't get me wrong and I think the Denver RB situtaion is going to be exactly the same as last year with Mike Bell simply becoming Mike Anderson.... As for Dunn, he's always been a quiet team player but he was excited as all hell when Mora said he'd get some glory this year by getting the goal line carries.. I mean what RB wouoldn't be happy about that after serving as a scat back/yardage slave for his whole careeer? I'm not saying he will get all the goal line action, but no doubt his TD's will rise and that's a very nice thing. People forget that Dunn had a lot of personal issues during the first 6 years of his career and he's now been in the right frame of mind for the past 2. His numbers are staring us all in the face and I see no reason this guy shouldn't be considered a good # 1 RB and a GREAT # 2... people can scramble around and decide between the Lamont Jordan's, Stephen Jackson's, and the other late first round RB's that all have questin marks around their heads.... I'd glady wait for the dust to settle and get Warrick late 2nd and early 3rd ANY DAY OF THE WEEK........

He has always been a quiet yet successful back especially in PPR leagues. His age is starting to scare me a bit. I do tend to shy away from 30 something backs because I'd rather be a year early than a year late. It's just my way of doing things. I have some friends who live in Denver that have been saying Mike Bell is getting all the love while Tatum is an afterthought. So I see big potential there. Shanahan of course scares most off. And I agree with that. I have stayed away from Denver RB's since Mike Anderson's 2nd season. I just don't like the rats way of doing things. But on the other hand I called Mike Bell the ultimate sleeper back in July and I think he will be better than most think. He hits the hole hard and gets extra yards after contact. So I don't look down on him the same way I do most of Denver backs. I know I am in the minority, but I think Mike will hold the job and produce. my $.
Raider 84 29 Posted August 24, 2006 I rather gamble on Bell, than take 1200 yards and 4-6 tds from Dunn!
escobante 0 Posted August 25, 2006 I rather gamble on Bell, than take 1200 yards and 4-6 tds from Dunn! thats a joke right? f not, i don't think you know how good 1400 and 5 is. it makes him a low number one or high # 2 back. instead you would gamble that bell gets a few more points, with the risk that he gets a ton less? Turcaso 1 Posted August 25, 2006 It's really a question of: Do you want Dunn in the mid to late 2nd early 3rd? Or M Bell in the late 4th early 5th? These two are not being drafted at the same time! If you are getting a top 3 pick you can pass on Dunn at 3.2 and get a WR like Boldin or Cambers and then get Bell at 4.11 - most of the time. The point is the value is what you can get before having to make a decsion to take M Bell that makes him a better pick IMO than Dunn.
PackYourNut 47 Posted August 25, 2006 Either way, were talking about a #2 RB here... So if it were me, I would take Bell. Add in some good RB depth in the late rounds and hope bell gets the nod all year. If he does, its 15+ TD and 1500 total yards. If not, you platoon guys and still get 1200 yds and 4 TD's... joho2o 0 Posted August 25, 2006 i took them both, i got dunn in the 4th and bell in the 6th 14 team redraft i think dunn is climbing quick now that duckett is gone
beantownbrown 0 Posted August 25, 2006 I would prefer to pass on Dunn given where he would need to be picked in drafts right now, then take Mike Bell a couple rounds later. Similar production is likely, and rather than take Dunn I would rather draft a stud WR before they all disappear. There are a lot of backs in the middle rounds that could post similar or better numbers than Dunn: Reuben Droughns, Kevin Jones, Thomas Jones, and Mike Bell for example. People seem to be drafting Dunn a little higher than he mabe is worth going IMO.
taa455 0 Posted August 25, 2006 I drafted Dunn, Dillon and Kevin Jones last year. Dunn was by far my most consistent back. He put up big yardage every week. I could always count on Dunn to get me 12-15 points. With Duckett out, I'm high on Dunn this year.
