Should I bench Rudi for Bush?

Recommended Posts

10 team ppr keeper league

My RB are R.Johnson, F.Gore, R.Bush, J.Lewis, and F.Taylor.

I will be starting Gore vs. St.Louis, as I am not quite sold on the new, improved Rams D, and I feel Gore will have a good game.

My question is whether or not I bench Rudi Johnson for Reggie Bush. Normally, I would never bench a stud player, but in the ppr format, Bush outscored Johnson Week 1, and Bush plays a horrible Packers team this week.

So, am i overanalyzing and stick with Johnson, or do I start Reggie?

Thanks, and leave a link so I can reply to yours.

Yes you are overanalyzing. Start Rudi. He is a proven commodity and healthy. Bush is a rookie. You cannot bench a stud back for a rookie even Bush...yet it's only his second pro game.

I actually think Bush is a great start this week in a PPR league. I'd start him.

Any other opinions?

I keep looking at what an outstanding performance for each of them would be.

A great game for Rudi would be 100 yds rushing and 2 TD's. That equals 22 pts with our scoring.

A great game for Reggie would be 60 yds rushing, 60 yds receiving, 8 catches, and 1 TD. That's 26 pts.

Problem is that Rudi doesn't get catches. The PPR is new to our league this year, and I'm just considering whether or not that PPR gives Bush an advantage over Johnson when the Saints have a favorable matchup.

While I think your line of thinking is solid above, I'd still start Rudi over Bush. Cincy is going to run all over cleveland, and though I think there's a chance Bush may have the game above, the chances of Rudi having that line is far more probable than Bush pulling the same.

Don't out-think yourself. Keep Rudi active. He is NOT a receiver out of the backfield, you had to know that when you drafted him - that is one of the things that keeps him out of the top 5.

On the flip side, I wouldn't be so sure that Gore goes bananas. J Lewis could against the Raiders. However, no one will sit Gore after last week, although I remind you that the Cardinals and the Rams D are just a bit different. The Lewis call is just a hunch. If you go Rudi and Gore you should be fine, jut Lewis could really light em up.

Its one of those lovely gut calls, Rudi is the safe bet in this one. BUT Bush suprised me and made me wish that I started him. Its still to early to use him as a 2nd back, as a flex its a sure bet. But ur analysis is quite acurate. I would start Rudi and wait and see if those would be typical Bush numbers.

Yeah I agree with the others Rudi is a must start everyweek, Bush hasn't proven himself all the way yet he will be good but until he does it for several weeks in a row you can't afford to bench Rudi for him IMO. Thanks for mine.

NEVER bench Rudi. Except week 5. End of story.

If you love Bush (the player), then I'd bench Gore instead.

personally I'd still bench Bush. How many rushing TD's did Chicago get against GB last week?

How many rushing TD's did NO get against Cleveland last week?

You HAVE to start Rudi, he always does good against CLE. I would even consider playing Bush instead of Gore. After last week Bush will probably get more game time againts a pathetic GB Def. Gore is good too but I think we saw his best game of the season in week 1. Rudi is your number 1 this week for sure though.

You have to go with Rudi..........just pull up his stats for his last three years vs. Cleveland and you'll see why. Good Luck!

Rudi is the safest choice b/c of his consistancy. However I do think there's a chance vs GB that Bush might put up some great numbers. But I think it's too early to be taking a chance like this when you have a quality RB like Rudi. Give it another week, see how Bush does, and next week might be the week to start choosing Bush first.

I would keep starting Rudi.

Bush is good, but hes nowhere near the level of Rudi yet.

a year from now, this may be a more reasonable question... but right now, I'd stick with Rudi.

Yeah, stick with Rudi. Also, just use Bush when either Gore or Rudi has a bye week. Gore will have more chances than Bush to rack up a lot of points and Rudi is a premeir back.

I think bush has more upside this week and Greenbay cant tackle leaving Bush a nice option in the passing game as well as the running game. I would take a chance and start him over rudi. Good luck!
