WR Trade Proposal

Recommended Posts

I just received an interesting trade proposal from another owner in my 12 team league. Scoring is 50/50 with 1 pt/2 receptions. We start 3 combo WR/TEs.

He requested Javon Walker and Jericho Cothery for Randy Moss and TJ Houshmanzadeh. Normally I wouldn't have to think about this, but with Housh's nagging heel injury and the Raider's scoring problems, I am not so sure. The upside is huge, but the downside is huge as well.

What do you think?

What would you think if I countered with D. Mason instead of Walker?

Not much difference betwene Cotchery and Houshmanzadeh in terms of upside/ability. But Walker has a better chance to be a decent player than Moss this year (unless Moss somehow gets shipped out of town before the trade deadline, which isn't likely). I'd keep your team.

I wouldnt do it. You got better odds of winning the lottery than Moss acheiving greatness in OAK so that gives Walker the "+" column, TJ and Cothery are basically a wash.

Just my opinion.

You're right. Seems like a no-brainer, but I wouldn't take the offer. Moss/Oakland aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I see GB and Walker doing better this season than the way they've started and Cotchery is looking really good with more to come.

Take another peek at mine: No PPR, 2 RB, 2WR + 1 flex starting. Thanks!

wow, this is a real risky one. i have a feeling like cotchery might fade as the season goes on, so you'd want to strike while the iron is hot in dealing him. the oakland offense is horrible, so that's scary too. i think you might be okay if you pull the trigger on this one. you might want to try to deal cotchery for someone else altogether though...

thanks for your help w/ mine. good luck

Going against the grain here. I'd do it. The Cotch/Housh part is a wash, and while it's true Moss is on a crappy team, I don't see Walker exactly lighting it up. One goog game from Moss and his value skyrockets. I'd take the chance.

Housh and Cotchery will put up similar numbers so put that off to the side. So it comes down to Walker and Moss. Moss has QB problems, and offense problems, but their next two games don't look too bad (Browns, niners). Walker seems to be producing OK in Denver, even with Plummer struggling. Id say don't do it.

I agree that he is trying to dump Randy, so I wouldnt do it. Im in the same boat...stuck with Randy and not a chance in hell of getting rid of him right now.

you will be taking a gamble if u do it ,but the payoff could be huge... Walter will air it out early and often bc the Raiders are gonna be playing from behind a lot... and Housh is always solid.

Thanks for answering mine..

I wouldn't do this trade. you would have to mess with your line up to make this trade. you will have problem starting 2nd WR if Moss doesn't come up. I am trying to get moss for mould. he is really cheap right now. offer some other trade like cotch and Glenn for Huz and Moss.

If this is offered now, I would refuse, but keep an eye on how Housh adjusts now that he will play. The opportunity to have Housh as your #3 WR is a good one if he stays healthy.

In terms of Moss, I would not want him. Yes, he is the #1 WR in Oakland, but with their QB issues and the switch back to Brooks in a few weeks, he may never quite produce. History shows that Randy needs many touches and rapport with his QB and with Walter now playing and Brooks coming back from injury in 2-4 weeks, he may not develop any sort of chemistry until late in the season.
