GettnHuge 1 Posted October 19, 2006 I was just perusing the MDC hookah pics to see if they were updated and noticed the new other links... sex offenders, hmm.... Locator link I searched by city Offense information: Offender has a history of sexual contact with juvenile victims (males and females, ages 8 to 10 years). Contact included fondling. Liberals are Clueless 0 Posted October 19, 2006 It should be only once, but when you have poosay judges that have been put into office this crap happens. This stuff goes on all over the place. Isn't Minnesota the place where that guy who killed the family in Idaho was from? Joseph Duncan? You would think this would be something everyone, no matter what political party, would be fighting for. There are a lot of politicians who don't care, mostly Liberal. DanXIII 8 Posted October 20, 2006 The only answer is to lock these people up and throw away the key. They cannot be rehabilitated (by and large) and to release them on the public is a travesty of justice. And, no, making a Web site telling us that they've unleased these monsters onto our society & kids doesn't "CYA", gubmint.
Voltaire 4,562 Posted October 20, 2006 You know, you read about the mandatory sentancing for drug related offenses, those guys are serving long sentences for non-violent offenses. Cry me a river, I don't focking care. The thing of it is though is they talk about prison overcrowding and these guys are the last ones to get released. So when they want to ease overcrowding or they lack funds or whatever, who do they release? Let's look at Zekiel Thomas here. Age 24. Used threats and violence to engage in sex with victims ages 4-11. The max time this guy could have served (if he was thrown in at 18 and released at 24) is six years. Compare thse sex offenders to some of the drug crime sentences and you wonder why the priorities are such.

texasmouth 1 Posted October 20, 2006 I think if someone abuses a child like this, they should be turned over to the father of the child. I know it would be inhumane and all but if you know that is the penalty and you do it anyway, you deserve to get what you get. These guys know the punishment is nothing and doing a little time is a joke now so nothing is stopping them. I would go Kathy Bates "Misery" style on someone. Killing them would be the easy way out. Ilov80s 0 Posted October 20, 2006 This is just a reflection of what is wrong with criminal justice system. The system is punitive instead of corrective. If you commit any felony, then you should be put in jail and not released untill you have proven yourself capable of re-entering society. For most child molestors, that means they would enter lockdown following the first offense and never be released. A judge should not be deciding when to release these people; a team of mental health professionals should be making the determination. If you rob a store, then you don't get your freedom back untill you have required enough job skills to ensure when you are independant, you will not have to resort to robbery. The point of the the legal system should not be to punish people, but to remove the dangerous from general society. If a person is determined to no longer be a threat, then they should be released. In the case of molestors, I would prefer they be put in hospital facilites so that they can be studied. Any information we gather that can help predict or prevent sexual abuse would be helpful. There are two flaws in this. First, in order to keep all criminals behind bars for the lenth of time needed for correction, you would have to convert the state of Montana into a prison. Second, as for child molestors, I don't hink it's 'curable'. I think that it would be like trying to 'cure' someone of being heterosexual. It's just the way their brain is wired. Although it would never happen, I honestly think the second offense for child molestation or rape should result in castration. That would remove sexual desire completely. I agree that is would require massive facilities and investment thats not going to happen anytime in the conceivable future. I also agree that rigt now it is not curable. That is why I said they will likely never be released. They should be studied so that perhaps a cure could be developed. As for the castration, I'd have no problem if the government offered that as an option in exchange for release.
