Wagner's Real Americans 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I am in a 10 team, keep 3 offensive players league, and I got offered: Boldin for Chad Johnson I know that Boldin is a better option now and for this year, but it just seems like CJ is the better guy to have for the rest of his career. Please help, owner wants this decision by 12pm CST.
MFFLWarPigs 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Boldin. Here's why: I'm in a keeper league also, but I always try and win NOW, and at the moment, Boldin's better. He's also younger, his QB's just starting to click, and they'll always be throwing the ball to catch up. Of course I can see why you wouldn't want to also. I guess maybe I'd ask to have a draft pick thrown in too. Thanks for mine.
jbogli 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I would take Boldin. As stated above, you want to win, they both have great keeper value. Boldin helps now and next year. The reason i would really make this trade is Boldin is developing a releationship with a passer that will be there for years to come. This is happening while the other #1 is out. This can mean that Boldin will become the go to guy for years to come for leinart. Sometimes you have to take risks based on your gut. My gut tells me Boldin. Fantasy Challanged 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I like Boldin more than Jonhson. He is 2 years younger and more physical. Not to mention this year the Cardinals have a much easier schedule than the Bengals do. Make the trade and set yourself up for the future and this years easy schedule for Boldin is just a bonus. My question
Young_Grasshopper 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I like the idea of asking for a draft pick as well. CJ has a track record that Boldin can't match (yet), which is worth something. CJ also has a number of productive years left. That said, I like Boldin better and would take the trade with the draft pick. Doesn't have to be a high draft pick, but something to sweeten the pot. Otherwise, you're both just making even bets on which receiver will be better for the season and for the long term. Thanks for answering mine!
wave150 0 Posted October 20, 2006 I would also take Boldin and his potential... Arizona will always have an easier schedule, including this year. As soon as they get rid of Green and fix the line they should be fine offensively. And Leinart is going to be ridiculous. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=246084
whahaa 0 Posted October 20, 2006 i don't think you can go wrong either way down the line. both are top-notch and both have years left in their careers. so to help make the decision, ask yourself: who's better this year? and who's younger? the answer to both, would be anquan boldin. mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=246094

SoulDoubt 0 Posted October 20, 2006 Boldin. It seems to me that Cincy likes to spread the ball a lot more. Also after watching Boldin play on Monday I realized how much of a beast that guy is. I knew he was a physical receiver but he was dragging defenders with him and going heads up with a guy and getting a few more yards. Also it's a keeper league and despite the fact Arizona's o-line needs work it looks to me like Leinart is settling in nicely, even more so when Fitz comes back. Wagner's Real Americans 0 Posted October 20, 2006 anyone else?
Ray_T 753 Posted October 21, 2006 I prefer Chad Johnson. But if you insist on taking boldin, you need to ask for more. either a draft pick, or another player. Chad Johnson is the #1 option on a very good passing team with a star QB Boldin is the #2 option on a very good passing team with a young QB who may or may not become a star. (looks good at the moment I might add) agreed, CJ has been hurt, and this lowers his value a bit, but I still think you need to ask for more if making this deal.
