Boz/BoFan 0 Posted November 10, 2006 Very tolerant of you Mr. Rangel NY congressman says no offense intended with Mississippi remark EMILY WAGSTER PETTUS Associated Press JACKSON, Miss. - A Democratic congressman from New York says he wasn't trying to insult Mississippi in published remarks Thursday, but a Republican colleague from Mississippi says Rep. Charles Rangel should apologize to the state. Rangel, D-N.Y., was quoted in a Thursday article in The New York Times, saying: "Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?" Rep. Chip Pickering, R-Miss., issued a news release criticizing Rangel's words. "I hope his remarks are not the kind of insults, slander, and defamation that Mississippians will come to expect from the Democrat leadership in Washington, D.C.," Pickering said. Elbert Garcia, Rangel's press secretary in New York, said Rangel had received calls Thursday about the Mississippi quote. Garcia e-mailed The Associated Press a response from Rangel: "I certainly don't mean to offend anyone, I just love New York so much that I can't understand why everyone wouldn't want to live here." ......and what an utter insult to anyone's intelligence that he thinks we buy another lame azz Dem. excuse for a botched line. The next 2 years are gonna be hillarious. Now I know why all you libs are calling for "No More Political Threads". This is gonna be fun.

FU Rude Rick 0 Posted November 10, 2006 It's going to be great. These fockheads got elected with absolutely no plan or ideas for the future. People voted against Bush and the war. Now that the dems actually have some power, they've got to come up with something besides "we hate Bush" and they're going to be EXPOSED. It is going to be great. That vote was an EMOTIONAL vote. Not an intellectual one. People will be kicking themselves in the ass and it'll be over before you know it. It will be hilarious though.

mobb_deep 920 Posted November 10, 2006 Yah, god forbid politicians start telling the truth. Mississippi blows.... big time.... What we really need to do is get rid of every single state not bordering a major body of water. Maybe we can move the jews in there. I wouldn't mind an Israeli state in the middle of America. Hell, atleast with the jews the middle might actually start contributing to the US economy. All you guys are good for now is voting in useless republitards because you're afraid of imaginary terrorists who wouldn't be caught dead (literally) in your crappy states anyways. You should all learn a lesson from the states who actually contribute to the GNP and are targets for "terrorists" (Cali, and New York) and vote Dem like true Americans. Not an intellectual one. People will be kicking themselves in the ass and it'll be over before you know it. It will be hilarious though. Its funny how people believe that a major political party could be so incompetent that they have no issues or agenda. The Dem's were in power for a long time before 94 so they have plenty of experience. Aside from that, what makes the republicans so great? What plan did they have? I just don't see why people think the democrats are going to run this country into the ground. Like are they gonna fock up so bad that we'll have another depression? As for the quote, republicans have said much worse. Even besides that, this comment is not a big deal. Even if a repub had said the same thing, it woudl still be a non-issue. I say the same thing about everyother state besides California.
yanko 11 Posted November 10, 2006 Oh the Dems have an agenda alright. It's the same agenda they've always had, which is to do whatever it takes to maintain the power. Repubs are no different except they forget to continue executing it. Already the Dems are talking about healthcare and minimum wage hikes, neither of which is good for this country. The latter is just a cleverly disguised kickback to the unions but of course they never get called out on it. As for healthcare, if they really wanted to see people get healthcare (as in GOOD healthcare) they'd focus on trying to make it more affordable to PURCHASE or obtain from their employers rather than serving up more government cheese but unfortunately the latter is the easiest way to buy votes. itsbigmoni 1 Posted November 10, 2006 I'm in favor of having some sort of bare minimum health coverage for everyone. The healthcare companies would still be around because the national health care wouldnt' be the best and anyone that makes enough money would want an upgrade. But right now there are a lot of kids in college that have no isurance (i haven't had insurace in about 6 months and won't get it for another 4), or low-income households that can't afford to cover the whole house. I think having national health care would be a good thing. But then again i'm almost a socialist.

Why would I want to pay for some fat azz glutton that eats too much fast food and has to go in for a triple bypass at $35000.00 per surgery and even more money for aftercare and meds which can get into 6 figures, or the dumbazz that smokes 3 packs a day, or the hypochondriac who goes to the ER 5 times a day (I have a buddy who is an EMT who says this type of individual is wayyyyy more common than anyone knows). Why do I have to pay for them? Also, why do Sheiks, oil barrons, CEO's or any other individual with means fly all the way to the good ole US for healthcare? Its because we have the best. Innovation is the mother of Capitalism. Socialized medicine breeds mediocrity and waiting rooms busting at the seams only to finaly get your turn with a government physician.
