football_scooter 0 Posted November 20, 2006 holy crap! Teen robbed selling PS3s... http://cbs2.com/topstories/local_story_324085857.html Selling them for $5K each, maybe he shoulda picked a safer location for the exchange. I almost think this PS3 "scalper" got what he deserved, though no one should be pepper sprayd & ripped off....still - his greed is what cost him $1200 instead of making $10,

ffsmack 0 Posted November 30, 2006 I'm getting myself a Wii. Personally, I think gaming has gotten kinda dull in the last few years and the Wii was the first console I've been excited for since I first saw Mario 64. I really enjoy party games and Nintendo is the best at offering that. The GameCube, even though it was missing all the 3rd party support, had some of the best party games of the last generation. And when those friends aren't around, the single player games like Zelda and Metroid Prime are great. I tried the Wii at my friend's place last week, and simply put, its fun. I don't need state of the art technology that costs me as much as a computer to have fun.
surferskin 31 Posted November 30, 2006 well, i made my choice: XBOX360 on black friday, i went out and got me one along with the free game (Gears of War). GOW is an awesome game with the best graphics i've EVER seen but was bit easy to complete on "causal mode". overall though, i'm extremely happy with my choice at this point. also, joined at GameFly too...it seems to be much cheaper to just rent games without having to return them by some deadline then to buy them. Jeremy 0 Posted November 30, 2006 Personally, I am leaning towards the Wii. Despite the hype of the other consoles, I have always been a fan of Nintendo's games. They just make games that are fun to play, period. They have been in the arcade space the longest, and I think it gives them a unique perspective. I can only play so many 1st person war games (XBox) and while they have a ton of titles, PS games always leave me a little flat. Nintendo Wii looks pretty sweet in terms of the concepts - a controllers are somewhat revolutionary (the "nunchuk") and appear to really make the game a more interactive experience. I'm going to be researching them all well into next year, and I'll wait until I've had a chance to play each of them, but so far my research indicates that the Wii is the best bang for the buck, and with the best playability of the 3. I believe it comes in at just $249 for the console, remote & a nunchuk controller. I'm with you, Scooter. I've always enjoyed the Nintendo games. Even when people were debating PS2 vs Xbox, I was saying, "I'll take my gamecube, thanks." They're just really fun games to play with the wife or kids. The other ones seem to be more suited for single guys with lots of time to play. Plus I'm hearing good things about the Wii. If you priced them all the same, I'd still take the Wii.
