You guys are not gonna believe this ... Dad was right

Because smart people make their own way in life. They don't pray for people to leave them an estate. You wouldn't know anything about that bankruptcy boy but that's how real life works.

because you keep making bad choices in your life? :rolleyes:

I did, what I had to do to get by. I lied, when I was 15 and said I was 16 to get a job. I made $3.35 an hour. I washed dishes, bussed tables, waited tables ... made a bad decision when I was 19, first job waiting ... argument with my girlfriend, put my fist through a door and broke my hand. I also picked up big heavy rocks and bashed them into my Mustang ... to prove to her I didn't care about my car. Bad decision. I had a sweet numbers matching 1966 Galaxie 500 Convertible, 289, AT, red on red. Drove drunk ... it got hit by a train. Bad decision. I bought $500 worth of Apple stock in like 1997 at $15 a share. Told everyone I knew, even posted here back in the day ... BUY AAPL!

That $500 investment ... 10 years later, would be over $10,000 today. But I sold it at 23. Bad decision. I had several thousand dollars in retirement accounts that I used to help fund my grad school. Took big penalties. It all would have been protected under bankruptcy, but I cashed it out to pay my bills. Bad decision.

In college, I LITERALLY picked up 2 strippers outside a bar ... lost my balance, ankle rolled over, broke my fibula and herniated a disc in my lower back. Bad decision.

Private school wrestling champ in my frat. 6' 3" 200. Nicknamed "Torso" because he was almost out of proportion. Short legs ... all torso. He was pissing everyone off, and one night I decided I was gonna throw with him. I threw first, and I don't even remember the wiff ... next thing I knew, I was turned the other way ... blood gushing from my broken nose, and I fell to my knees ... catching the blood in my hand ... and the focker popped me in the temple for good measure. Starting a fight with a wrestling champ known for his extensively long torso. Bad decision.

There's lots more. How much time you got? But I don't really regret any of them. Making mistakes builds character.

Making mistakes builds character.

I do agree with this statement

As far as your Great Uncle, wouldn't it be his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids that get the money.

Oh and Alltell sucks :rolleyes:

I'm sure when your Great Uncle founded it, it was Lincoln Telephone though :rolleyes:

Yeah ... I'm like an anti-magnent for money in this family. Seems to trickle all around me, but miss me. And I'm the genealogist. If there's some kinda lost family trust ... I'll find it, but it wont go to me. I'd bet dollars to donuts on that.

In the bylaws:

ARTICLE IX

Indemnification

1. The Corporation may indemnify a Director, Officer, Employee, or Volunteer of the Corporation to the fullest extent possible against expenses, including attorney's fees, judgments, fines, settlements and reasonable expenses, actually incurred by such person with respect to any proceeding against such person relating to his/her conduct as a Director, Officer, Employee, or Volunteer of the Corporation. Such indemnification shall apply even if such person is not a Director, Officer, Employee, or Volunteer at the time such proceeding is brought, provided the proceeding is based on conduct occurring during such person's term as a Director, Officer, Employee, or Volunteer of the Corporation.

2. The indemnification provided in paragraph 1 above shall not apply:

a. To a breach of such person's duty of loyalty to the Corporation;

b. For acts or omissions not in good faith or which involve intentional misconduct or knowing violation of the law;

c. For a transaction from which such person derived an improper personal benefit;

d. Against judgments, penalties, fines, or settlements arising from any proceeding by or in the right of the Corporation, or against expenses in any such case where such person shall be adjudged liable to the Corporation.

3. No amendment to or repeal of this Article shall apply to or have any effect on the indemnification hereunder of any Director, Officer, Employee, or Volunteer of the Corporation, for or with respect to any acts or omissions of such person occurring prior to such amendment or repeal.

It's the first part that's important. It pretty much says ... you can get paid, if I understand it right.

Last time you told this story, you had a pickup that got hit by a train.
