vuduchile 1,945 Posted January 21, 2007 At the ripe old age of 43, I can now emphatically state that I'm a non-smoker. The book suggestion by Electric Mayhem was really a big help. "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr truly is worth checking out if want to quit. It's hard to put my finger on exactly why the book was helpful. There is no magic formula, no big secret, and no specific methodology in it. It really just sort of opens your eyes to a different (more rational) way of looking at the process of kicking a nicotine addiction. After smoking for the better part of 20 years, I can't express how relieved I am to have stopped. Over those years I've been a social smoker, an occasional smoker, a secret smoker, a two-pack-a-day smoker, and a miserable non-smoker. But most of all, I was just plain being an idiot. Deep down, I was pissed at myself every focking time I took a drag. Anyway, those days are over. Moving on with life smoke-free.
