Fumbleweed 547 Posted March 3, 2007 Can you imagine VMI winning that game and playing a #1 seed in the first round. They might give 150 points in that one......
Giants Fan 85 Posted March 3, 2007 Dude ... watch out for Air Force. Can you imagine ... if Air Force made it to the final 4? Not only do they play a sick game of hoops .... but they can also fly jets. That's actually their main priority ... flying jets.

Juniper 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Plenty of the at-large wannabes breathed a sigh of relief that Winthrop held on; many were pimping them for a bid even if VMI scored the upset.
ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 4, 2007 Unusual absence of upsets in the mid-major tournaments so far. Top 2 seeds so far have made the finals in 7 of 9 tournaments, with the 1 seed reaching the finals in all 9.
ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 6, 2007 And status quo continues to dominate the picture as two 1s and a 2 seed secure tonight's 3 auto bids. Maybe tomorrow can bring the first surprise with 5-seed North Texas into the Sun Belt finals. Yet another would-be cinderella, the UMKC Kangaroos, is bounced by my home team, Oakland U. Too bad Oral Roberts has permanent home court advantage for the Mid-Con tournament
ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 7, 2007 Took until the 4th day of auto-bids for a real surprise winner. 5th seed North Texas goes dancing, but even the Mean Green have a solid record (23-10). Aside from that, another 2 one seeds with their tournaments as upsets have been few and far between.
ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 8, 2007 Conference tourney winners by seed: 1 seed - ACC, Big East, Big Sky, Big South, Big Ten, Big 12, Big West, Colonial, Conference-USA, Horizon, Mid-Continent, Northeast, Patriot, SEC. Southern, West Coast 2 seed - America East, A-Sun, MAAC, MEAC, Missouri Valley, Mountain West, Ohio Valley, SWAC, WAC 3 seed - Atlantic 10 4 seed - Mid-American, Pac 10 5 seed - Sun Belt Could this mean more competition out of the 14-16 seeds in this year's tournament? ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 10, 2007 It is now up to the big boys to provide the first long shot auto-bid winner as the lowest possible winner out of the mid-majors was 5-seed North Texas (22-10).
ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 11, 2007 Auto-bids by seed: #1 seed - 17 #2 seed - 9 #3 seed - 1 #4 seed - 2 #5 seed - 1 Only 4 auto-bid teams will be under 20 wins. With the overall picture for the top 3-4 seed lines seeing constant turnover this year, it is not unthinkable that this could lead to more upsets in the first 2 rounds than usual. ZeroTolerance 584 Posted March 11, 2007 Oregon beat the living snot out of USC in the Pac 10 to earn the auto bid. Lmao. I watched the carnage and still didn't notice my typo (putting USC down as Pac-10 bid winner). Speaking of beating the snot out of someone...Texas looks a little pi*sed about losing their last matchup because of Durant's injury.
