Batteries in smoke detectors?

aren't you suppossed to change batteries in smoke detectors when daylist savings time begins and ends :unsure:

 

 

does it make a difference that they now switched the dates on us? :cheers:

I just change the batteries when my smoke detectors start to incessantly spew that ear-piercing chirp that tells me it's time to change the batteries. :unsure:

they say that so you switch them semi regularly. If you don't like those dates, pick something like the fourth of july and christmas..

when that happens, I just take the batteries out. then i dont hear the sound anymore

 

plus you save on the cost of batteries

You need them for a backup if you lose power.

That worked when I lived in a crappy apt in Hoboken. I tried that once we moved to the current place, but it has the newer ones that chirp if you don't have batteries in them. :dunno:
