Train Kills Man Trying to Kill Woman

Recommended Posts

LOS ANGELES - A man trying to kill his girlfriend by stopping a car in front of an approaching train was himself killed Monday when the train hit the vehicle and launched it into him as he tried to flee, police said.

The girlfriend survived.

The man drove the car in front of a group of other vehicles stopped at a railroad crossing in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Sunland, Officer Mike Lopez said.

The driver, who was seen arguing with his girlfriend, parked the car on the tracks and jumped out, leaving her behind, Lopez said.

A northbound commuter train hit the rear of the car, hurling it into the man. The girlfriend was taken to the hospital, where she was in stable condition, Lopez said.

Actually this isnt true. I thought it was hilarious and was going to post it but researched it on AP.com and found out that what you posted was the original article but the official report has since been changed.

The man was not fleeing, he wasnt wearing his seatbelt and was thrown form the car, she was wearing seatbelt and lived. Official reoprt - botched murder suicide.

Either way sweet justice - she lived and he is about to push up daisys.

It did seem a bit too convienent, but..

Here's what one of the earlier reports said:

The man drove his 2005 Dodge Magnum around the two cars, through the guardrail and parked it on the tracks so the passenger side was directly in the path of the approaching train, Lopez said. "He drove up on the tracks as the train was coming," Lopez said. He added that the train struck the rear end of the car, causing it to spin around and eject the man, who was not wearing a seat belt.

If he was planning on killing himself I wonder why he bothered to swing around so would hit the passenger side first. edit: nevermind, it doesn't say he swung it around.
