FantasyBowl33 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Presently, how do you have your defenses ranked? I like CHI & N.E. but the Asante Samuel and Lance Brigg contract situations is something to watch. In Jax, they can move up if they can stablize their Off. a bit. Loved SD after last year to be a top 2 defense coming in to this year but all the coaching changes has me dropping them a bit. Ravens will be solid, how much will losing Adalius Thomas hurt. 1. Chicago Bears 2. New England Patriots 3. Jacksonville Jaguars 4. San Diego Chargers 5. Baltimore Ravens That's how I see it, how bout you folks?

I think you still have to have BAL #1 1.BAL 2.CHI 3.NE 4.SD 5.JAX 6.DEN/PHI
LittleGiants78 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Miami??? I would rank Miami after the others I listed-- IE PHI-NE-JAX-DEN Their secondary is still weak and they give up big plays>>>
GobbleDog 981 Posted June 24, 2007 Last year, the Minnesota defense finished 3rd overall in my league. Behind Baltimore and Chicago. Did they lose a bunch of defensive players or something? Vikings defense has an ADP of 'UNDRAFTED'.
Big_Pete 0 Posted June 24, 2007 #1. Chicago - Ahead of Baltimore only cause they play in the NFC #2. Baltimore - Although I think their D is better than Chicago's, they play in a much tougher Div/Conf #3. San Diego - They'll rack up lots of sacks, which will give them mucho points #4. Denver - Nobody will be able to pass on them, and if their rookies stay out of trouble, nobody will be able to run on them either, making them maybe #3. #5. Jacksonville - They always bring it on D. If they have any sort of offense this year, it'll help their D out tremendously.

Big_Pete 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Agreed, playing in the NFC is why I ranked them #1 too. Although, I am concerned with the Briggs and Tank Johnson situations. true, but they've lost players before. They have a knack for turnovers and scoring off those turnovers. Devin Hester on offense worries me more than Briggs/Johnson, cause there goes a few TD's for the D
jdeck3422 0 Posted June 24, 2007 What impact will Wade Phillips have in Dallas on their D. If their secondary can hold up I can see them being a top 8 D.

VaTerp 0 Posted June 24, 2007 1. Baltimore - One of the most consistent parts of my lineup last year. Losing Thomas could hurt but there is still an abundance of talent there and a healthy? BJ Sams should boost the return game. These guys just have a knack for making plays. Big plays. 2. Chicago - Same concerns others have expressed but they still should be great at creating turnovers, they get to play 2 games each agaisnt MIN, GB, and DET, and Hester should remain the biggest return threat in the NFL. 3. NE - Adding Thomas will be huge and Bellicheck is still arguably the best defensive game planner in the league. Some concerns about the secondary, especially if Samuel holds out, but I think this unit finds away to get it done one way or another. Plus I expect them to be playing with leads the majority of the time. 4. SD - Love the sacks but still have questions about the secondary and the loss of Wade Phillips and Donnie Edwards. Yeah, the system will remain similar but Cotrell is a downgrade from Phillips and Edwards is getting older and slower but he is still very solid. 5. Denver- They faded down the stretch of last year but dont forget that they had 2 different streaks of 11 consecutive quarters without allowing a TD earlier in the season. If their efforts to address theri pass-rushing issues are successful then this should be one of the elite defensive units in football next year. Also, for those including Jacksonville in their top 5's, I just dont see it, at least not with my scoring system. Despite being of the top NFL defenses they are a medicore FF unit IMO due to a lack of sacks and creating turnovers.
piece of work 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Baltimore is always stout but look @ there schedule during the playoffs.....yuck... wk 14 which is usually everyones 1st wk of the playoffs they play the COLTS..... wk 15 @miami....good matchup wk 16 championship wk @ seattle i know you really cant base your def on that but they will most likely score very little wk 14 w/ manning protecting the ball and that is a very impt week. bottom line....dont like there schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I agree with VaTerp up and down this post - I don't like the Jacksonville pick either, they seem to always be ranked high and never live up to it. They got a couple of shutouts last year, but they're never consistent - they gave up 27 to Houston, 36 to Washington, and 27 to Buffalo.

49ers_suck 0 Posted June 25, 2007 i admit i'm not really up the defenses yet. but i like the Bears simply because they can build around urlacher, and they will have a healthy mike brown, and they are the Bears. i like Denver because, as was said before, you won't pass on them. they have champ and dre in the secondary. the Cowboys will be better than they are drafted imo. they are excited about wade phillips. they just need to stop the big pass plays.
