'07 Player Projections By NFL Team

Recommended Posts

To prepare FFTodayers for the upcoming ’07 season, starting 5/14 will post threads listing offensive players by NFL team and invite posters to attach projections to each offensive player.

Posting of just commentary on one or mutliple players, instead of projections is welcomed and encouraged as well.

Will post 3 team threads per week (2 during 4th of July week) alphabetically by team city, so will have all 32 NFL teams posted before August 1st.

Through beginning of FF season will hopefully have this thread pinned as an ‘Archives’ thread, so will have opportunity to post replies for any previous team at any time.

Notes:

HC EMangini: Will be 2nd year

RB TJones: Will be 8th year, 1st with Jets

WR JCotchery: Will be 4th year

Key Questions For '07 Season:

Will Jets continue to improve under EMangini?

How will TJones fare as the ‘main rb’ for the Jets?

Will LWashington get significant touches?

Will JCotchery continue to improve?

How much does Coles have left?

Sucks that I am such a pennington fan that I have to be high on the Jets every year.

I think another big question is if Pennington can come back as a great QB again. TJones is going to be an above-average RB, I think the ADP has him right at 2.12-ish. Which is where he should be. TJones won’t be facing 8-9 in the box as well as share the carries with another star RB (unless you want to call Barlow that).

I see Coles as a Jimmy Smith type, who will produce great numbers until he retires, and I’m pretty high on Cotchery this year as well. I see both of them getting around the same numbers as last year.

I gotta look for improvement in every facet of the offense. The young line has had a season and offseason to gel, and LT Ferguson looked solid for a rookie. Thomas Jones is a tough runner that will definitely upgrade the running attack. I see him getting a lot of red zone carries. These two factors should aid Pennington, a remarkably accurate QB that is now another year further removed from shoulder injury. Also helping him is the return of his two favorite receivers, who should produce similar numbers to last year.

Overall, I don't see any real fantasy studs here. But it is a well coached and balanced offense that will consistently produce points. Pennington is a solid 2nd QB, Jones a strong candidate to outperform his ADP, and Coles and Cotchery good picks for PPR leagues where they will consistently get points.

Is T Jones going to be able to carry the load from week 1? What's his deal?
