NAn 39 Posted May 6, 2007 To prepare FFTodayers for the upcoming ’07 season, starting 5/14 will post threads listing offensive players by NFL team and invite posters to attach projections to each offensive player. Of course, more projections more beneficial the thread, but posting of just commentary or projections for select players is welcomed and encouraged as well. If any homers/fans note anything that I omit that could be relevant to team/player projections, please feel free to post that info in thread. The purpose of these threads will be to: * Illicit discussion/debate/dialogue re: ability of skill players, team offensive capabilities, team offensive scheme, team coaching (HC and OC), schedule, etc. * Allow for more accurate projections and rankings by not just looking at the production of the individual players, but also at production of individual players in relation to other players and positions on same team. Example: Re: Kansas City Chiefs, much was made of Larry Johnson’s rushing projections and Herm Edwards wanting to ‘run the ball’ prior to last season. In doing projections one may have tied in this talk to increased rushing attempts, translating to less passing attempts and so…potentially less passing yards, and so…potentially less receiving yds. In fact, in Edwards first year, passing attempts came down average of 70 atts and passing yds average of 800 yds from Vermiel era. By noting that Johnson’s production could increase, could also note that Chiefs QBs/WRs/TEs production could decrease and would have made more accurate projections overall. Will post 3 team threads per week (2 during 4th of July week) alphabetically by team city, so will have all 32 NFL teams posted before August 1st. Thru beginning of FF season, this thread will serve as 'Archives' thread so can post projections/commentary on any previously posted team. Team Projections Archives Links AFC East Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins New England Patriots New York Jets AFC North Baltimore Ravens Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns Pittsburgh Steelers AFC South Houston Texans Indianapolis Colts Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans AFC West Denver Broncos Kansas City Chiefs Oakland Raiders San Diego Chargers NFC East Dallas Cowboys New York Giants Philadelphia Eagles Washington Redskins NFC North Chicago Bears Detroit Lions Minnesota Vikings NFC South Atlanta Falcons Carolina Panthers New Orleans Saints Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFC West Arizona Cardinals Saint Louis Rams San Francisco 49ers Seattle Seahawks
Kitsnow 0 Posted May 7, 2007 Since this is for projections maybe we should also list where they were in the rankings WCOFF soring Edge 17th RB Bolden 15th Fitzgerald 24th Though if you plook at FFPTS/G Fitz is 14th Bolden is 20th Lienart per game 22nd total 24th TE's for Arizona were inconsequential Pope wasn't even the most productive of them. Thanks, and will consider any suggestions, but at same time understand that it isn't going to have everything for everybody. With that said, think most FFers have general idea of who finished where and having last yr's stats listed will also give a good idea. Plus, we deal with so many different scoring systems on the board, rather just list stats and let each FFer make adjustments according to their league. And Pope actually was slightly more productive with 1 more rec/30 more yds than next Card TE...other TE did have 1 TD to Pope's zero. Agree that the position was a non factor. Fumbleweed 555 Posted May 23, 2007 NAn, I guess we'll try to pin about six of these at a time. I hope that is o.k. with you........
NAn 39 Posted May 23, 2007 NAn, I guess we'll try to pin about six of these at a time. I hope that is o.k. with you........ Fumble, six is fine, but I was actually thinking just 3 at a time...whichever teams are featured in a given week. Then just drop off teams from previous week as I add on teams from current week. Your call though and either way is appreciated.
NAn 39 Posted June 19, 2007 Sorry about the delay past couple weeks folks...just had some personal stuff going on. That is why I just did 3 per week, in case I got backed up I could still do that many. And by end of this week we'll be more than halfway thru every team in the league, still on track to have all team threads/archives up before August.
jocstrap 8 Posted June 20, 2007 Thanks for all the work Nan. Chiefs players make me nervous this year. LJ @ #2-4 with the loss of o line men, Qb, no proven wr? If I pick him, I will gulp and sigh IF I do (then cross my fingers and say a little prayer). I just don't see him being a beast anymore. LJ 1200 yards rushing and 12 td's LJ receiving yards 450 3 td's OK, well those numbers are very respectable for the #2 overall? . Man I'm confused about this offense. Kennison or Bowe I will take in the 13th round or later period. I won't even give you stats on them but, one of the wr's has to catch a pass and Sammie Parker won't be on my roster. Gonzalez - He's a stud until proven other wise 73 receptions, 850 yards, 7 td's

Eddie kennison isn't proven? Tony Gonzalez isn't proven? cause that's basically what he is for the team, another receiver. Oh yeah we drafted this guy named Dwayne Bowe as well, and he'll push early for the starting job opposite kennison. My guess is it's his job when the season begins. I vouched for LJ I also vouched for Gonzo Kennison are you kidding me? 12th season an 800-1000 yards & 5 td's is the max you can expect from him. This is very solid for my 5th receiver 13th round I will also take a chance with Bowe - In the 13th round! 1996 St. Louis Rams 15 14 54 924 17.1 77 9 12 4 34 1997 St. Louis Rams 14 9 25 404 16.2 76 0 4 2 18 1998 St. Louis Rams 16 13 17 234 13.8 45 1 2 2 14 1999 New Orleans Saints 16 16 61 835 13.7 90 4 11 2 34 2000 Chicago Bears 16 10 55 549 10.0 26 2 8 0 29 2001 Kansas City Chiefs 13 7 31 491 15.8 65 1 7 4 17 2002 Kansas City Chiefs 16 14 53 906 17.1 64 2 16 3 44 2003 Kansas City Chiefs 16 16 56 853 15.2 51 5 11 3 43 2004 Kansas City Chiefs 14 14 62 1086 17.5 70 8 18 6 47 2005 Kansas City Chiefs 16 16 68 1102 16.2 55 5 17 5 47 2006 Kansas City Chiefs 16 16 53 860 16.2 51 5 15 2 41 TOTAL 168 145 535 8244 15.4 90 42 121 33
