Ron Paul for President 2008 0 Posted July 8, 2007 -Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans Normally I would automatically bet money on the black guy...but mexicans are also pretty good fighters... Rashad has a great record but IMO hasn't really fought anyone yet... Tito seems to be on a losing streak and this may be the guy he can break it on since as far as I know Rashad is more of a stand up kinda guy...if tito gets him on the ground..could be nasty

Guest RenoZ Posted July 8, 2007 Rashad is more of a stand up kinda guy. If by "stand up kind of guy" you mean "100% ground and pound wrestler" then, yep, he is a "stand up kinda guy."
Magnum T&A 0 Posted July 8, 2007 What hapened? I saw that Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Heath Herring went the distance and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira got the win. Did he dominate the Crazy horse or was it pretty much back and forth. Then UCF.com has TBD by Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans?

Guest RenoZ Posted July 8, 2007 the ortiz-evans result was pure BS. Ummmm...really? Ortiz narrowly won the first round. (10-9) Ortiz then narrowly won the second round but lost a point for grasping the fence. (9-9) Evans narrowly won the third round. (10-9) I'm curious to see who you think got "robbed." dcOne 2 Posted July 8, 2007 Spoiler link: http://www.mmanews.com/page.php?page=ufc73results the ortiz-evans result was pure BS. BS? Umm. It was a close match (albeit boring), it was close. Then came the decision. That too was close. Umm...well, it was more than "close", it was a draw. So, uhh....what was BS? Seriously.

So, uhh....what was BS? Seriously. Well, from what I heard from people that watched the match. Tito was dominating the 2nd round and that "grabbing the fence" call was kinda sketch. Also, apparently Evans was grabbing the fence alot as well and wasn't even getting a warning.

TAS 2 Posted July 9, 2007 yup. guess i gotta check out the match myself before I make a decision. Tito didn't have the same intensity he had/has while fighting Shamrock. I feel he underestimated Evans. Not that Evans fought great either, but Tito did not fight his "normal" game.

RicemanX 20 Posted July 9, 2007 So you called BS, but didn't watch it? The dude explained it very dramatically man, I bought into it. "yea! he did get screwed!! And I hate Jewish people!"
Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted July 9, 2007 I watched the fight and personally thought Evans was too timid and not on his A-game being that this was his first big fight. If they rematch I think Tito will be knocked out. The draw was scored exactly as described. Tito deserved the 1 point being taken away which costed him the decision. rallo 136 Posted July 9, 2007 it was a boring event... a friend of mine bought it so i went to watch... i only have one question... WHAT WAS HERRING DOING??? he had that fight won... antonio was pretty much out cold after that vicious shin to the face... i know he's a black-belt in brazilian ju-jitsu... so maybe herring was afraid to go on the ground... but still... HOW COULD HE NOT FINISH HIM OFF??? also i was very surprised the ref didn't stop that fight... lucky for antonio

I was baffled at his lack of aggression after the knockdown, as well as the early parts of the 2nd round. Either he lacks what it takes to go get it, or his corner did a craptastic job. RicemanX 20 Posted July 9, 2007 people, we are arguing over a black vs a mexican? who cares lets talk about a white guy, shawn shrek With BJ Penn out of the picture, this guy is going to be champ for a long time. There is no one down there that can challenge him. Maybe that Robert Huerta kid...but he probably will only give Sherk 2 or 3 good rounds.
Artist Formerly Known as Big O 0 Posted July 9, 2007 I hate Sherk 'cause his nickname is stupid. "Muscle Shark" This was also the first UFC I ever fell asleep watching. Boooorrrriing!

Maybe that Robert Huerta kid...but he probably will only give Sherk 2 or 3 good rounds. Supposedly Penn is going to go to 155, and that fight will be in November. Tyson Griffin, Frank Edgar both are "up and comers" at 155. I can't believe Sherk got out of that guillotine that early in the fight (when Franca was "full strength" and neither guy was covered in sweat), and I can't believe Sherk took those knees to the head and kept right on going. I am a member of Sherdog's message board---and 80% of those on there are crying "foul", that "all Sherk did" was take Franca down and not finish him. That board is made up mostly of non-caucasion, non-midwestern people who don't like to see a "white-middle class midwestern wrestler" win.
RicemanX 20 Posted July 9, 2007 no dcone. Penn went down to 155 to fight "little evil" and now he kicked ass down there, he is moving up to get a rematch against Matt Hughes and GSP.
indybearsfan 0 Posted July 9, 2007 no dcone. Penn went down to 155 to fight "little evil" and now he kicked ass down there, he is moving up to get a rematch against Matt Hughes and GSP. the Penn v Sherk fight is already confirmed by white in his post event press conference. also, a slightly different take on the Ortiz fight, i thought Ortiz was on the verge of being taken down twice in the second, but saved himself via the fence. I thought without the fence Ortiz loses the fight do to the second round take downs. but who knows what would have happened once they were on the mat. guess that is why we will see the rematch. dcOne 2 Posted July 9, 2007 no dcone. Penn went down to 155 to fight "little evil" and now he kicked ass down there, he is moving up to get a rematch against Matt Hughes and GSP. 1.) I said supposedly. 2.) here is the link: (of individuals that heard it on MMA radio's "Beatdown") http://www.mmaplayground.com/forums/topic7245-1.html http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?threadid=600434 The bottom line is, that you don't KNOW, I don't KNOW...we can only go by hearsay, rumors, etc...and the LATEST rumors & hearsay are that Penn is going to fight Sherk. RicemanX 20 Posted July 9, 2007 http://www.mmanews.com/ufc/Tons-Of-News--F...ter-UFC-73.html yup, I guess Penn is staying at 155. My fault. You might wanna inform Dana White of his plans.
