For me, if they want to improve the HR derby, they can do one simple thing............keep Chris Berman away from a microphone.

Let them swing from a Tee so it doesn't take 13 pitches before they swing.

 

And also limit them to 10 swings, not 10 outs.

I agree...need to keep Berman away, and they have to shorten it. It takes way too long, and that's the reason a lot of players bail on it.

Players bail on it because they're jackasses, nothing more. They owe everything to the fans. If I was a Giants fan and one of the Bonds drones, I'd be pissed that he isn't doing this HR derby in his hometown. What a jagoff.

For the last few years, Barry gets soooo much sh1t for the roid stuff and hitting home runs. Now, everyone just wants Barry to be their homerun monkey? For one night?

David Ortiz is not doing the derby because it takes too long, and the players have to sit for too long between rounds.
