Does Anyone Still Have a "Home" Phone?

Recommended Posts

We did not have a home line for 5 years, until the new house and new security system.

I'd rather pay $12.00 a month for a limited land line for the monitored security sytem, than the $30.00 monthly charge for connection to a cell phone.

Wife feels more comfortable with monitored security since I am out of the country for 2-3 months a year. :wall:

I don't think that the phones are being built with a "GPS" system in them, but use a tracking system based on "pings". I haven't researched this, but I believe "pings" are the electronic signal sent to from the phone to the towers/satellites that transmit the calls. So when you place a 911 call, and they are able to locate you, they are actually only locating an area that you might be in.

You may want to do a little research. :shocking:

I know some phones have true "GPS" systems in them, but I think that the majority of them just use "pings". Either way, I could care less who knows where I am and when. I've got nothing to hide and don't really see it as an invasion of my privacy. But if you're so "matter of fact" why not save me the trouble and just post a link?
