illest 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Hows C. Wilson look on those two passes? All I have is Game Center... Suck at work...

skittles 0 Posted August 6, 2007 In NFL Network's lineups they had Holmes & Ward in their graphics. However, I'm pretty sure I saw Wilson and Ward as the only two on the field for the first snap. I haven't seen Holmes yet. Wilson looked f'n good. Sure, I'm a little excited, since its LIVE FOOTBALL for the first time in forever, but he looked real good on that long ball (although Kaesvahorn could've just put his hands up to prevent it) and could've scored on the short one near the goal line if he would've made a big dive or move for it. striker1z 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Looks like Wilson is getting plenty of looks. Haven't heard Holmes mentioned yet. Nate Washington let one go through his hands, although it has been raining. Davenport looks like crap (doesn't seem to be running hard between the tackles), although he got a nice twist on the TD. Big Ben looks good. Right now Bush looks like he is lost as the main ball carrier. I'm sure he will improve though.
illest 0 Posted August 6, 2007 wow... Wilson @ 90 Yards 3 catches already...
psunate77 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Wilson went to the Post-Gazette and bitched about not getting the ball in camp, apparently Tomlin was pretty pissed about it and bitched Wilson out. I take this as get Wilson ther ball and shut him up.
illest 0 Posted August 6, 2007 lots of looks to Colston.

HenryChinaski 1 Posted August 6, 2007 Right now Bush looks like he is lost as the main ball carrier. I'm sure he will improve though. Yeah Bush looks lost. All 2 carries that he had. 4.0 avg. Sooo Lost. Back in reality: Brees DOES look off.
HenryChinaski 1 Posted August 6, 2007 is holmes playing - is ced will the #2wr ? No. Holmes started.
striker1z 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Yeah Bush looks lost. All 2 carries that he had. 4.0 avg. Sooo Lost. Back in reality: Brees DOES look off. Too much dancing around for my liking, and he got brought down real easy on the 2nd carry.
gemynd 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Brees DOES look off. Watching the gamecast only. Is Brees just missing targets? 1 for 6 to start is not expected.
HenryChinaski 1 Posted August 6, 2007 Too much dancing around for my liking, and he got brought down real easy on the 2nd carry. Yeah... He gained 7 yards on that second carry. That was a horrible 7 yards. You look lost in this thread.
FeelingMN 273 Posted August 6, 2007 and he got brought down real easy on the 2nd carry. Yep, first of 5 preseason games. Dude should definitely be fighting for the extra yard.
illest 0 Posted August 6, 2007 The only person I'm really targeting out of this game would be Colston - So I am definately encouraged that Brees had a sort of tunnel vision for him. The results though, not so encouraging.
HenryChinaski 1 Posted August 6, 2007 Yep, first of 5 preseason games. Dude should definitely be fighting for the extra yard. Yeah -- In the rain. It would make him more of a man, if he tore his ACL in the Hall of Fame Game.
skittles 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Nate Washington with 2 quick drops can't endear himself in that 3rd spot with Wilson having such a nice opening quarter.
striker1z 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Yeah... He gained 7 yards on that second carry. That was a horrible 7 yards. You look lost in this thread. Ok...so maybe it was the first carry that he went for the 1 yard gain......you don't need show that you're an ass. And he did look horrible on that carry. Now, please forgive me for messing up what carry that was......pretty please?

The Moz 71 Posted August 6, 2007 Holmes the #4 WR ?
illest 0 Posted August 6, 2007 I never really understood the thought behind drafting someone like holmes or ginn jr. high in the real NFL draft. Speed is easy to come by, but athletic size is not. Its hard for those little speedsters to pan out like steve smith (CAR) did. As a GM i would be looking for 6'3''+ wide outs.
skittles 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Santonio Holmes with the fade TD. Almost NO coverage. He could've been running against nobody, cause it was that easy. Apparently the Saints will still be a fantasy goldmine. No defense, so they'll just have to keep throwing, and all of your players are must-starts against them. MTSkiBum 1,626 Posted August 6, 2007 This thread sucks. Its because people like you contribute so much But anyways holmes was the man this drive 2 receptions 44 yards and a td. Thats a good sign. But it is against 2nd or 3rd stringers.

MTSkiBum 1,626 Posted August 6, 2007 I was thinking more along the lines of 'because I already made this topic yet everyone decided to post in this one.' I looked over there, before i posted here, i just saw a bunch of the "smilies" The steelers have 4.8 yards per carry tonight with FWP out, hopefully this is a good sign that the new O-lineman are gelling

I mean Harrison, Holt, Smith, CJ, Driver and pretty much most of the leagues best receivers probably shouldn't have been drafted because they are under your height requirement. And all those Jax receivers are the best

Which happens to be in the rain. In which he only got 2 carries. Of which you couldn't even get which carry it was that you weren't happy about. Yeah. Good job. illest 0 Posted August 6, 2007 lol, you pick the worst tall receivers vs. the best short receivers. nice. I was thinking more along the lines of Colson, R. Williams, A. Johnson, Ca. Johnson, Owens, Walker, Moss, Burress, Fitzgerald. Don't get all huffy - I was just stating what I would do. Seems that guys get drafted (ginn Jr; santonio holmes) based in large part on speed. I was just pointing out that to me, size and athleticism is a rarer quality and IMO pans out easier. All i was saying...

That group of WRs has nothing on the Holt, Harrison, CJ, Steve Smith short WR crew. Moss (lazy) Burress (lazy) Owens (stone hands) A. Johnson (what his he doing on this list?) Roy Willaims (disappears every other week). Holmes was not drafted based on speed. He was the most polished receiver in the draft last year. A complete WR, not a kick returner like Ginn. Holmes didn't come in until the 2nd quarter probably because he missed the first week of camp and they wanted to get reps to the guys that were in there from day 1. And looking at the few plays he was in there you know he will be starting. I am not concerned that he isn't 6'3"

Ricky's Swami 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Barlow coffin just shut with that Davis run... PIT is always loaded with RB depth. Carey Davis does look like "Baby Bettis" but watch out too for Gary Russell (sleeper alert). Russell was burried under Maroney and MBIII in Minnesota and had off-field issues and weight issues which is why he went undrafted but he does have solid natural talent. Davenport and definitely Barlow should be lucky to even make the roster.

Davenport and definitely Barlow should be lucky to even make the roster. Davenport is almost a given to make the team. Tomlin loves him from the days he played against him in Tampa. And you can't go into the season with the only backups being first year players like Davis and Russell. Barlow....stick a fork in him. Davis is playing great on special teams in camp and can play fullback. I love the way he ran today. I would love for Russell to make the team, he looked decent tonight and was slated to be as good as any RB in college football last year until he flunked out. He is getting back into shape after being overweight and is a little rusty. Maroney and Russell split their carries 2005 year? 1100 yards and 19 TDs in 2005 is what Russell had. I don't think he was buried under Maroney but shared the load. Russel scored 8 more TDs than Maroney in 2005.
