dcOne 2 Posted August 7, 2007 Anyone have one? Is there a major difference between brands? I can't find much for opinions, discussion boards, etc. I am thinking of either the Sunl or the X-treme. Anyone own either of them? Thanks
TAS 2 Posted August 7, 2007 Yes. Watching a grown man ride one looks ridiculous. Other then that, nothing.

randandy 0 Posted August 7, 2007 i think you should buy the most expensive one you can find and tell your buddies how much you spent, out loud, really loud, at the bar and then brag about the gas mileage, incessantly and all the while tell the waitress how she should get a "real job"
dcOne 2 Posted August 7, 2007 I don't have a motorcycle license...so the plan is to get a 150 cc, then remove the "1" from the side of the moped. The idea behind it, is obviously to save gas $ by not driving the pickup ("truck" for those of you that for some reason call them that) when I don't have too. I work from home and still have a $300-400 month gas bill. Really, the scooters don't look bad.... http://www.x-tremescooters.com/gas_mopeds/xm150/xm150.html

It might work on some people. But I cannot join you in this 'lifestyle'. My rectum will simply not accept any wieners this day.

They are disposable for gods sake. Also I hope you are from South Dakota as I'm too close to North Dakota and would not want to be afilliated with someone who would drive one of these over a "Truck" Also chicks dig "trucks", mopeds not so much

FranksTanks 0 Posted August 7, 2007 1. Don't listen to anyone who thinks pulling chicks during a morning commute is possible, let alone in a pick-up. 2. Getting a scooter depends on where you live. They make sense in cities, maybe really small towns, but not suburbs or hilly areas. Most of the backwoods rednecks on this board never see scooters where they live so its easy to make fun of them. 3. I live in the city, tons of people of all ages ride them, and they are fun and extremely practicable. I'm only 27 so its a little more common to see people in my age group, but as long as your not fat, there is nothing wrong with being on one. 4. Also, my girlfriend and I love cruising around city, parking anywhere we damn please. I love going to sporting events and pulling up right next to the stadium closer than the most expensive pay lot and parking my scooter on the sidewalk. Then flying around the traffic when the game is over while every other schmuck sits in line for an hour wishing they had a scooter too. If you get one, you'll love it. They're a drop in the bucket and save a sh!t ton on gas. Personally I like the more retro looking ones than what you posted, but to each their own.
GettnHuge 2 Posted August 7, 2007 1. Don't listen to anyone who thinks pulling chicks during a morning commute is possible, let alone in a pick-up. One fella at the gym rides a moped there to save on gas. Normal guy, middle aged, married. Every, and I mean EVERY time he rides along the windows and parks it, the girl who usually works each morning(25yrs old 36C) and her friend who is often there to tan,(24yrs old 36D) start laughing. I haven't noticed them laugh at any of the guys who drive minivans. So there you go.
kutulu 1,676 Posted August 7, 2007 I considered getting one for my mile and a half ride to the train station, but I didn't want to look like a homo. Instead, I opted for one of these bad motherfocking rides.

dcOne 2 Posted August 7, 2007 They make sense in cities... but not suburbs or hilly areas. The 150cc ones go over 65mph, and have decent power to go up hills. Prolly not good to run them at that speed for very long though.

You're right, I was thinking 50cc. Around where I am, there isn't a speed limit over 35 so its not much of an issue.

I can't speak for every guy on one, or every girl, but there are plenty of girls that get more excited about my scooter than my xterra. Also, I'm not interested in chicks that are impressed by 'roid laden meat heads that ride crotch rockets. That's just not my thing and I'm not going to pretend that it is.
