Press ctrl + alt + del

Click task manager

Go into the processes tab

Click the CPU tab once or twice, until you get all the high #'s at the top.

Check to see what's taking up all the CPU

Highlight it and then click END PROCESS

I think it's outlook express. Do you use outlook express?

User Comments

It is an extension of Outlook. Used for playing sound from your outlook e-mails.

File msimn.exe is the main executable for Microsoft Outlook Express, which is an email and news group client that is installed with the Windows Operating system. Be sure to always check whether you have installed the latest updates since many worm viruses are exploiting this program to infect your system

Don't sweat it. You can go into my profile and give me 5 stars, that'll do.

next time something like that happens, 1st thing you should do is restart and see if it still happens. if so, feel free to consult us.

LOL. That is when your system is IDLE.

Think of it like a car, when the engine is on and the car isnt moving., Would the engine be at 100% or 0%?
