redtodd 7 Posted August 12, 2007 Without showboating after each routine tackle? God, the class of the NFL is declining every year. This is focking preseason and guys are acting like they won the Super Bowl for tackling the RB after a 2 yard gain.

IndyTom 0 Posted August 12, 2007 Assuming its a border line player, they may be doing whatever it takes to make the team. If you have a couple of guys that are in a "tie" to make the final 53, I would tend to think the coaches and owners will take the guy that gets the crowd into it. Me_2006 14 Posted August 12, 2007 The only thing that tops this is the incredible amount of "fights" that "almost" happen with the 4th string guys out there trying to "show their passion" or whatever it is they're trying to prove. The games I've watched have had at least a few shoving matches after the play, per game. It's just annoying and lame looking.
redtodd 7 Posted August 12, 2007 I am seeing this with the 1st string guys. God it is annoying.
RicemanX 20 Posted August 12, 2007 Almost as annoying as that "ballin" thing the NYGiants defense was doing last year

It's absolutely pathetic what you see on an NFL field nowadays. They should make a new rule and start penalizing players for this.

Everytime I see a stupid celebration (i.e. Merriman's dance), I pray for them to tear an ACL.

redtodd 7 Posted August 13, 2007 Like Tony Allen did last year? I missed that one. SWEET!!!! It carries over to kids who play Madden. I figured I would play my wife's cousin's 11 year old kid in Madden and take it easy on him. He scored the 1st TD and stood up and danced. Yes, this little white boy danced. I thought I was going to body slam him. He lost 35-7.
RicemanX 20 Posted August 13, 2007 The WORST is when the special team tackles the KR at around the 20 and then get all stoked about it...you did your job, now go back to the bench, don't dance...ever.

This is focking preseason and guys are acting like they won the Super Bowl for tackling the RB after a 2 yard gain. They all learned it from Junior Seau. That is exactly what he would do, especially back when he was with San Diego all the time, make a tackle after a 2 year gain and then celebrate like he just won the game. Pretty annoying when a guy makes 6 tackles per game and celebrates them all. He was Shawne Merriman before Merriman was Merriman. Now Hines Ward is teaching offensive players to do the same thing after every catch/first down.

edjr 6,580 Posted August 13, 2007 It's all about TV time. In all honesty, ESPN is to blame. They have ruined the NFL because showboaters know they will get on ESPN. Same goes for the NBA.
RicemanX 20 Posted August 13, 2007 Yea, and why do EVERY reciever now have to do that spinning thing with the ball after they catch it?

He would stuff the RB for a 2 yard gain, do he gay fist pump thing, then the next play the RB would plow through him for the 1st down. Jeremiah Trotter is another one I want to see have his knee explode whenever he does that shovel thing after a tackle.
