Wheaties 0 Posted August 31, 2007 Just looking for some opinions/advice on a few starting spots in Week 1. Performance Scoring 10 rushing = 1 point 10 receiving = 1 point TD = 6 points Fumble = (-2) points RB - Need 1 Deuce McAllister (at IND) Fred Taylor (vs TEN) Maurice Jones-Drew (vs TEN) Brandon Jackson (vs PHI) WR - Need 1 Chris Chambers (at WSH) - seems to have fallen out of favor... almost traded? Chris Cooley (vs MIA) Donte Stallworth (at NYJ) The waiver wire is complete slim pickings. Best available are: Joe Jurevicius, Desmond Clark, Jason Whitten, and Heath Miller... because TE is not required in this league. Thoughts?
bauman88 0 Posted August 31, 2007 MJD - has most potential Cooley - he'll end up top 3 in TE see me http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=283109
oneinchgroups@100yds 0 Posted August 31, 2007 MJD I would start Stallworth... I'm not real fond of any of the options, but unless you have gates or one of the other elite te's (i dont think cooley falls into this category) I would always start a WR. If they catch one 20 yd pass for a touchdown they will get more points than most tight ends get on a weekly basis.
Wheaties 0 Posted August 31, 2007 Thanks for the replies, guys. I would start Stallworth... I'm not real fond of any of the options, but unless you have gates or one of the other elite te's (i dont think cooley falls into this category) I would always start a WR. If they catch one 20 yd pass for a touchdown they will get more points than most tight ends get on a weekly basis. I know what you mean... it was hard to get good WR's in this draft. I actually kept taking the RB value (as you can see) throughout the draft, which meant suffering on WR depth. Not sure if that strategy will pay dividends in the long run. I just couldn't leave such quality RB's on the board at the rounds they were available. If you think I'm short in WR, then you should see some of the other RB rosters. I'm surprised nobody has preferred Deuce McAllister this week. Indy had the worst rushing defense in the NFL and didn't do anything to improve either. Just so you guys know... I'm already starting McNabb, Tomlinson, Holt, and Driver. Hopefully, I can get a few more replies. Anyone?

Beyond Chaos 75 Posted August 31, 2007 MJD and then would gamble with Chambers if he doesn't look good sometime soon he'll be riding my bench (I have Stallworth too and am gonna sit him for now mainly because of the way New England spreads the ball and he's a number 2 guy). JMO.
Epic7 0 Posted August 31, 2007 Any one of those running backs will do fine. I would play stallworth for wr
Hoos 0 Posted September 1, 2007 Deuce and Stallworth. And that's coming from someone with Bush as a starter. There's still room for both of them and Indy hasn't improved that run defense. Might be a little flat too. I like Cooley but would have to take a shot a Stallworth because Brady should be like a kid in a candy store. With Moss a little dinged DS should get plenty of looks. Wheaties 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Well, I did some waiver wire digging and found Jacoby Jones (WR-Houston) was still available. I know rookie WR's don't usually fare well, but he played nicely in the preseason and should be starting opposite Andre Johnson. Can use a few more opinions on the situation at hand. Thanks in advance. Performance Scoring 10 rushing = 1 point 10 receiving = 1 point TD = 6 points Fumble = (-2) points RB - Need 1 Deuce McAllister (at IND) Fred Taylor (vs TEN) Maurice Jones-Drew (vs TEN) Brandon Jackson (vs PHI) WR - Need 1 Chris Chambers (at WSH) - seems to have fallen out of favor... almost traded? bjlmonster 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I read nothing but great things about Jones. I would start Deuce against the poor Indy Run Defense and go with Cooley. To many "spread it around" questions with Stallworth and MJD is still giving carries to Taylor and possibly goal line to Jones. Please see mine!
FreddieMercury 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Thanks for answering mine. Tough call, but I think MJD and Stallworth are the best plays here. Good luck!
MWalsh26 0 Posted September 3, 2007 MJD and Chambers.
ThatAlexGuy 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I'd narrow the RB's down to Deuce and MJD....and if you watched any of the playoffs last year, you would see that IND shut the hell out of RB's, so they defiently have improved. And on top of that, MJD isn't to shabby either, and he'll probably get you 80 yards of total offense and a touch this week, so I'd choose MJD here. For your wide reciver, I'd take Donte Stallworth. Chambers was a complete let down last year, and I wouldn't do anything with him until they got their offense figured out.
Wheaties 0 Posted September 3, 2007 Thanks for the replies so far. It seems New England just cut Reche Caldwell. Not sure if that makes Stallworth a more attractive play this week, but it certainly can't hurt. I'm leaning towards MJD and Stallworth at this point. I'd love to hear a few more opinions. bobpate17 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I would go with MJD and stall as well. MJD has soft match up and stall looks best of those WRs and TEs. Please look at mine

2GQ 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I would go Deuce and Chambers. IND has had a suspect run D and I feel that Deuce will have respectable #s as Payton must keep a fair balance of carries to satisfy both RB (Bush and McAllister). This formula worked well last year and although Bush will probably get more carries, Deuce will be effective. Plus, he is the likely goal-line back. You can't yet say that about MJD as Jones is back. Jackson has potential, but IMO he should be evaluated this week to see what he's got and can do so from your bench. Chambers is an under-achiever, but with so much talk of him being trade bait and the organization standing behind him, they must feed him the ball to squash all rumors and show that they have upgraded their passing offense. I look for some deep passes his way.
thebook 1 Posted September 3, 2007 I like MJD but the Deuce vs. Colts matchup is pretty darn good too. I'll take Chambers against WAS since he's THEE man in the receiving game.
kindschi327 0 Posted September 3, 2007 I would start MJD and then its a coin flip between cooley and chambers

Bills04 56 Posted September 5, 2007 I'd go with Mo-Jo, and C. Chambers. Thanks for help with mine.
SaintsInDome2006 441 Posted September 5, 2007 Deuce and Chambers. Deuce is going into a shootout vs a not-great rushing defense. Chambers - just because it's the Skins, because your other options are not great, and because Green's QB'ing now and maybe, just maybe Cam has some idea of how to run a pro offense, which Saban did not.
