CornKobb 48 Posted September 10, 2007 I knew i shouldnt have drafted him. Well 222 and a touch is not horrible at all and there were worse performances but. 1. He reminded me of brees where he was completing passes but nothing downfield at all. This may not be Matt's fault but I dont think he has any downfield threats. DJ Hackett was hurt also. 2. It is early and I may be jumping the gun but I do not see an air it out yr for him. Holmgrens dink and dunk looks like the recipe for this year. Yuck.....I should have known better.........Vanilla boring offense. for me drafting him. thoughts?

I wish for 2 td's per wek, but I doubt he'll have any BAD days like Grossman, Favre, and even Brees had this week for negative points.... A guess 1-2td's per week and 200 yards... I would've been happy with "222 and a touch"
CornKobb 48 Posted September 10, 2007 Hasselbecks td was a laid up 25yd pass to mmorris. I considered it a little lucky. But a very good play on both ends. no explosive wrs scares me and holmgren will run run run with a lead. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....
ppierce 2 Posted September 10, 2007 i've had him 4 years in a row (before this year) . thats what he does, 200 and a td. then he'll go off one week and back to 200 and a TD. i passed him up this year for Romo. he won't hurt you but he certainly won't win you any fantasy games. HardTack 0 Posted September 10, 2007 At least Matt got you pts...Branch did zilch for me in 2 leagues. I grabbed Branch in the 6th in 2 leagues looking for decent #2 at worst #3 production. I won one of the games regardless and have to hope McGahee and Chad Johnson put up less that 28 pts combined.
GobbleDog 997 Posted September 10, 2007 Look at this career stats... he's always been decent, but never great.
p00h 85 Posted September 10, 2007 Look at this career stats... he's always been decent, but never great. This is very true. I don't ever recall him having 3rd round buzz or anything. Slow and steady, and in that division he'll end up with top 10 qb stats if he plays all games. 3200 yards, 20-30 tds, probably right around 24(1.5/game)
A Dido Brother 0 Posted September 10, 2007 One thing that concerns me are his receivers - Branch is way overrated, and the Hackett/Burleson and whoever the fock else there is situation is a little worrisome. And who is their TE? That said, he's the definition of consistency to me, a top tier QB who's typically the last off the board - which is probably why I own him in both of my leagues. I just hope he still puts up numbers with that receiver situation in limbo.

Spinner 0 Posted September 10, 2007 I wouldn't blame Hassel so much..blame TB for not scoring and forcing Hassel to perform...because when he has to, Hassel can light it up. Look for games against the west opponents...then you'll see some heavy production.
LunaTick 30 Posted September 10, 2007 I have him, but drafted him as a late round backup QB. I think Alex Smith may still be available and am thinking about picking him up. But my 14th rounders scored better than some of my starters.
CornKobb 48 Posted September 11, 2007 Ok Ok.....I am ok with the vanilla boring choo choo train of hasselbeck.... I am just griping like a little girl. After last nites games watching inept alex smith, Leinhart, mcnair,......then sunday grossman, rivers, etc. Hasselcrap aint so bad afterall......
RamslovaMartzhata 3 Posted September 11, 2007 Her's my thinking. Prety much, Hass and Alexander are locks for a TD a game for the most part. Some games Hass will get one or two more, others Alexander will get one or two more. Throw in a couple of fluky games where they don't get a TD, and there it is. Also to add... not sure how this year will shake out, but TB has always had a solid Pass D in recent years if I'm not mistaken.
