pfunk12 0 Posted September 11, 2007 i have him and lamont jordan riding the pine, and i'm trying to determine if he will actually produce near this level, or if i should try to trade those two for, say, palmer or brady (i've already made the offer to the peyton owner, who has crappy RBs). i didn't watch any of the steelers game. how good was their offense/how bad was the browns D? philmckracken 3 Posted September 11, 2007 Ben did throw for 3500+ yards last year, albeit with a lot of picks to go along with those yards. The offense is geared even more towards the pass this year, Santonio Holmes has a year under his belt and they drafted another tight end. All indications are that Ben should be able to have a very good year. Unfortunately, he can't play the Browns every week, although I was under the impression (someone correct me if I'm way off on this one) that the Browns' pass D was decent. MTSkiBum 1,626 Posted September 11, 2007 Ben was a top 10 QB in my league last year with a crushed face and having an apendectomy. Considering he is healthy this year, and they have an offensive cordinator that is going to open stuff up, I think he is for real. I drafted him as my #1 QB in round 8, and so far i am happy with him. I dont see any reason why he wont repeat his performance as a top 10 QB this year. jaltiere 0 Posted September 11, 2007 I have to agree...he should put up good numbers this year. Bruce Arians is supposed to open up the offense this year, so they won't run the ball as much as they have in past years. Considering the fact that he put up decent numbers despite the injuries and the run based offense last year, this year looks to be a big year.
pfunk12 0 Posted September 11, 2007 good points all. thanks. although if i can get peyton or brady i think i'll dish him.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted September 11, 2007 He's for real, but a lot of it was the Brownies. The fact is that their new offense is really only designed to make things easier, not to make Ben into a stats leader. They're still a running team, and will continue to be for the most part, even when they go 4 wide. I think he sees an increase in yards to 3800-3900 (I just don't see 4000), an increase in TD and a slight decrease in INT. I'll throw out 3850/24TD/15INT as my guess which should easily put him in the top 10.
parrot 789 Posted September 11, 2007 I'm looking for Ben to rebound this year and had him targeted in my draft before getting beat to him by one pick. That said, I wouldn't put too much stock in that game. Yeah it was the Browns, and he still barely completed half of his passes.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted September 12, 2007 I have him and he's gonna finish in top ten this year. Think about grabbing a sub for weeks #6 (bye) #7 Denver (Champ Bailey/Dre Bly) #9 & 17 (Baltimore). I grabbed Delhomme Sunday morning (woot!) because he'll be good for week #6,9,17. Dunno what I'm gonna do about week #7 yet; really can't trust playing Ben against those two cornerbacks.
