Zach Thomas Out Sunday, John Henderson Doubtful

Recommended Posts

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) - Miami Dolphins middle linebacker Zach Thomas

will miss Sunday's game against the New York Jets after tests

revealed he has a mild concussion.

Thomas might be available to play next week.

Thomas played every snap in Miami's loss Sunday to Dallas but

said he felt lightheaded in the locker room after the game. He

complained of a migraine this week and missed practice for the

third day in a row Friday.

The game will be only the 14th Thomas has missed in his 12-year

career.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jaguars defensive tackle John

Henderson missed his third consecutive practice Friday and was

listed as doubtful for Sunday's game at Denver.

Henderson, a two-time Pro Bowler who has not missed a game in

his six-year career, suffered a concussion last week against

Atlanta. He returned to the game later, then had to be helped to

the locker room with what team officials called "heat-related

issues."

If Henderson does not play, backup Rob Meier likely will start

alongside Marcus Stroud.

Atlanta: Defensive tackle Roderick Coleman (knee) and tight end Dwayne Blakley (pectoral) are out for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Left tackle Wayne Gandy is 50-50. He was limited Friday in practice because of a hamstring injury. The team lists him as questionable. It will be depend on how he does in pregame warm-ups. The Falcons list defensive end John Abraham (quad), safety Chris Crocker (knee) and wide receiver Laurent Robinson (hamstring) as probable. They should all be available.

Carolina: Safety Deke Cooper (thigh) and defensive end Stanley McClover (thigh) returned to practice Friday and appear to be a go for the game against the Falcons. Both were listed as probable, although Cooper, who missed two days of work, might not start. It will probably be Marquand Manuel at safety. The only Panther expected to miss the game is linebacker Adam Seward, who is doubtful with a calf injury.

Chicago: The Bears had a good practice day Friday. Punter Brad Maynard (groin), defensive end Alex Brown (ankle) and center Olin Kreutz (ankle) did everything in the Friday workout. They are listed as probable. Linebacker Brian Urlacher had an easy day. He's probable. He just rested Friday.

Cincinnati: Dhani Jones was signed off the streets this week to help the injury situation at linebacker. He might end up starting against the Seahawks. Middle linebacker Ahmad Brooks (groin) and Lamar Marshall (groin) are doubtful. Rashad Jeanty (shin) is out. The Bengals are down to four healthy linebackers, which may force Marshall to try to be available in an emergency role.

Right tackle Willie Anderson (foot), wide receiver Antonio Chatman (hamstring) and safety Nedu Ndukwe (hamstring) are questionable. They had only limited work in Friday's practice. Out are safety Ethan Kilmer (knee) and wide receiver Tab Perry (hamstring). Center Eric Ghiaciuc (thumb) is doubtful and not expected to play.

Of the five players who are probable, safety Dexter Jackson (back), cornerback Deltha O'Neal (knee), defensive end Bryant Robinson (foot) and wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (knee) should be able to play

Cleveland: The Browns have three major question marks in the secondary. Cornerback Leigh Bodden (groin), safety Mike Adams (wrist) and safety Brodney Pool (concussion) are officially listed as questionable. Pool has been doing more in practice each day and has a chance to play even though he was limited in Friday's workout. Bodden and Adams are a little more iffy. The odds are favoring Bodden missing the game. Adams only has an outside chance.

Safety Gary Baxter (knee) and punter Dave Zastudill (back) are doubtful. Scott Player will punt for the Browns Sunday. Linebacker Willie McGinest is out with a back injury and will be replaced by Antwan Peek.

Dallas: Cornerback Terence Newman has practiced all week and should be able to play for the first time this season. He's missed two games because of a plantar fascia problem. Newman practiced all week and improved each day. If Newman plays, he will be used as a third cornerback. Wide receiver Terry Glenn (knee) and linebacker Greg Ellis (Achilles) have been ruled out of the Sunday night game against the Bears

Denver _ Linebacker Ian Gold has been on and off the practice field this week because of an ankle injury but he was able to do enough Friday that he should be able to play. Safety Hamza Abdullah is questionable with a hip injury and probably won't play. The Broncos will be without guard Ben Hamilton (concussion) and tackle Ryan Harris (back).

Detroit _ Tight end Dan Campbell went to a specialist in Minnesota to see about his injury elbow, a sign he might need surgery. He's out for the game against the Eagles. Kevin Jones should be able to make his 2007 debut. Figure him for about 10 to 15 plays. Tackle Jeff Backus is fine with an ankle injury. Defensive end Kalimba Edwards will be able to play with an ankle injury that sidelined him Thursday. Linebacker Anthony Cannon is a question mark because of a quad injury.

Indianapolis _ The Colts should have tight end Dallas Clark (neck) and right tackle Ryan Diem (neck) starting for Sunday's game against the Texans. Both players returned to practice on Friday and did well. The only player who is expected to miss the game because of injury is linebacker Rob Morris, who has an abdominal injury. Morris missed last week's game against the Titans. Freddy Keiaho will be able to play with the dislocated elbow that sidelined him last week.

Kansas City: Head Coach Herm Edwards (head) did not miss any practice time this week and appears ready for the upcoming game against Minnesota despite severe mental illness.

Kansas City _ The only player who didn't practice is wide receiver Eddie Kennison, who is out with a hamstring injury. Everyone else was on the field and will be able to play Sunday against the Vikings.

Jacksonville _ The big news out of Jacksonville is that defensive tackle John Henderson is doubtful because of a concussion. Rob Meier would start for him. Henderson has missed practice all week, and his absence will weaken the team's run defense.

Center Brad Meester (ankle) and kicker Josh Scobey (quad) are out.

Wide receiver Matt Jones (heel) and guard Chris Naeole (back) are probable and will play.

New England _ The question marks for the Patriots are defensive end Mike Wright (knee), guard Steve Neal (shoulder), tight end Dave Thomas (foot) and wide receiver Kelly Washington (hamstring). All four were limited in practice all week. Wide receiver Donte Stallworth ran downfield during the media portion of the Friday workout and should be able to go. Guard Billy Yates would start for Neal at guard even though he has a shoulder injury. Safety Eugene Wilson has an ankle injury but should be able to play.

---------------------------------------------

Minnesota _ The Vikings list quarterback Tarvaris Jackson as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but Brad Childress isn't saying who will be the starting quarterback. Kelly Holcomb and Brooks Bollinger shared snaps in practice all week. Most people believe Holcomb will get the start. Childress let the quarterbacks know of his decision but neither quarterback was talking after practice.

Fullback Tony Richardson is doubtful with a forearm injury. It will be a gametime decision on halfback Chester Taylor, who is questionable with a hip injury. He will play if he can last the entire game, and that might be too much at this point.

Safeties Darren Sharper (hip) and Dwight Smith (hamstring) are questionable. Sharper said he will play. Smith was limited in Friday's practice and won't know until Sunday.

Wide receiver Troy Williamson is questionable with a hamstring injury, but the injury was considered minor and he should be able to play.

----------------------------------------

Miami _ Middle linebacker Zach Thomas has been ruled out with a concussion. He had migraine problems early in the week. Safety Donovin Darius is also out. He has a calf injury.

Quarterback Trent Green was added to the injury report Friday because of a sore ankle. He took every snap and is probable. Guard Rex Hadnot is probable with a shoulder injury.

Baltimore: Left tackle Jonathan Ogden was ruled out of Sunday's game because of his toe injury. He has now missed the past two games. Cornerback Samari Rolle was upgraded from doubtful to questionable but should be able to play. He's ill. Linebacker Gary Stills is probable with a knee injury and will be available. Tight end Daniel Wilcox is expected to miss the game because of an ankle injury. Defensive end Trevor Pryce is out with a wrist injury.

Pittsburgh _ The Steelers won't have tight end Matt Spaeth, who caught two touchdown passes in his first two games because of a quad injury. He has missed practice all week, including Friday's key workout. Jerame Tuman will take his place as the second tight end. Other than that, the Steelers are healthy. Halfback Najeh Davenport (hamstring) and guard Kendall Simmons (shoulder) practiced for two consecutive days and are fine for playing.

St. Louis _ The Rams list quarterback Marc Bulger as probable because of his rib injury. He will play but he is really banged up. It will be a gametime decision for linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, who is questionable with an ankle injury. The only good news on that front is that Tinoisamoa was able to do some work in practice Friday.

Guard Claude Terrell should play despite a thigh injury. He's probable. Out is cornerback Tye Hill (back). Guard Richie Incognito is listed as doubtful with an ankle injury but don't expect him to play.

Tampa Bay _ Defensive end Patrick Chukwurah (knee) and cornerback Brian Kelly (groin) took part in a full practice Friday, but they are both listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. Of the two, Kelly probably has the better chance to play. Wide receiver Ike Hilliard is questionable with an ankle injury but didn't practice the past two days.
