I have a tough week ahead of me with Parker and Gore and K. Jones on bye weeks. I was looking to strengthen my running back corps to attempt to offset that. I received the following trade offer:

 

Randle El for Lendale White

 

 

My first thought was this is a steal for me.

Randle El has a hammy issue and when Moss comes back his numbers will be average again. You never know when Lenwhale will have a decent week. Actually you know what you can do that I'm doing. Get Jason Wright Cleveland rb b/c its highly unlikely Jamal Lewis will play and Wright could have a big week against the crappy Miami run D. Kenny Watson from the Bengals is another option if Rudi doesn't start. I have a few guys on byes and am forced to play Julius Jones against nasty NE defense but now I'm playing Wright b/c I've heard J-bird probably won't play. I'd look for those guys and keep Randle El b/c White sucks and I had him for a few weeks you just never know whether its going to be him or Brown to have better week.

I think it's not bad but you just never know who's going to get the ball there in Tennessee. Any interest from the Westy owner for Buckhalter? Your WRs are still pretty strong but you just don't want to screw yourself for future weeks by trying to win this one week. No WW RBs available? Jason Wright?

Yes if J-bird doesn't play Jason Wright is a good sleeper this week as he will get most if not all the reps for Cleveland against terrible Miami run D allowing like 176 yds/game.

Your WRs are still pretty strong but you just don't want to screw yourself for future weeks by trying to win this one week. No WW RBs available? Jason Wright?

All of the running backs you mentioned have been picked up except Morency, who you didn't mention but is in a running back by committee situation. Believe me I tried to get all of them at some point through waivers and I keep getting beat to the punch. I agree with you about the WRs. I just don't think I'm going to need to use Randle El beyond this week, unless another injury comes along. If I do this I have to drop Buckhalter too unless I keep him over Foster.

Yeah my league has ten teams and every one of us seems to have five running backs, which is the limit. The waiver pool for running backs is bone dry. There have been so many injuries at this point in the season. It's sad because half of these pickups won't even get played this week or any week. Except in my case where it's a must.

Wow those suck. I'd either go with Deangelo or one of the GB rbs but you need to monitor which one could get more reps over the next few days. I like Morency better but GB is doing RBBC so its hard to tell which will prevail with better numbers I'd guess Morency b/c Jackson hasn't looked very well. Good luck.

Thanks. I'm 4-1 so far so I can't really complain all that much. I knew this week would be tough and I might have to take it for what it's worth and hope to get back to business next week. I just have a tough time doing it. I'm playing an opponent with a 1-3-1 record.

 

Does anyone else have anything to say? I'll take all the help I can get and will respond to yours if you leave a link.

Randal El is mediocre ww fodder and Lendale has a nice matchup versus a weak enough TB run D and is a much better long term prospect as a scoring RB on a team with a good line. Get Lendale.. RE is easily replaceable.

Since you look good after the bye and R E numbers will drop when S M comes back I would make the move. Thanks for anwsering mine

I'd do it, especially if you don't see yourself ever starting Randle El, which would be a tough call to make. Lendale won't blow up, but he should get you by this week.

I'd make that trade in a heartbeat - Chris Brown will have some knee/toe/back/head/heart issue this year, and Lendale will become a nice play for you, this week and into the future. RE is an average WR in a nice situation, but Moss' return will change all that. Make the trade.
