help, my workout hurts my legs!

Recommended Posts

i've been working out in the gym and i started doing squats with the barbell thingee and OMG my legs hurt.

i can barely walk.

i only squat with 10lbs, lol!

i can barely bend, my thighs are so sore.

so...am i supposed to wait until they stop hurting or am i supposed to keep working out?

I would get on a program of doing your leg work every other day - allowing a day in between

to rest your muscles. You will be sore, but keep at it. Eventually, it will not hurt as bad as your

muscles become used to the workout they're getting.

That's what I do anyway. :shocking:

If your muscles are sore they still haven't recuperated from the previous workout. Don't work the legs again until they are fully recovered. Every other day for such a large muscle group is a bit excessive and unnecessary...I would say twice a week at most unless you do a workout that you would consider easy.

To be clear, I was talking about doing legs again before the legs have recovered. If you occasionally work out too soon it wont matter, just don't do it regularly. Working other body parts or doing light cardio while your legs are sore is fine.

look, obviously you are working out often. and you don't exactly need the cardio, specially since we have secks so often.

hows about

monday: legs, abs

tuesday: chest shoulders

wednesday: back, abs

thursday: arms, cardio

friday: legs, abs

i thought that the latest studies show that warming up the muscles by running before a workout is best.

something about static vs dynamic stretching? :dunno:
