peenie 1,703 Posted November 16, 2007 i've been working out in the gym and i started doing squats with the barbell thingee and OMG my legs hurt. i can barely walk. i only squat with 10lbs, lol! i can barely bend, my thighs are so sore. so...am i supposed to wait until they stop hurting or am i supposed to keep working out? I would get on a program of doing your leg work every other day - allowing a day in between to rest your muscles. You will be sore, but keep at it. Eventually, it will not hurt as bad as your muscles become used to the workout they're getting. That's what I do anyway. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

KingofBeer 0 Posted November 17, 2007 If your muscles are sore they still haven't recuperated from the previous workout. Don't work the legs again until they are fully recovered. Every other day for such a large muscle group is a bit excessive and unnecessary...I would say twice a week at most unless you do a workout that you would consider easy. KingofBeer 0 Posted November 17, 2007 too late. To be clear, I was talking about doing legs again before the legs have recovered. If you occasionally work out too soon it wont matter, just don't do it regularly. Working other body parts or doing light cardio while your legs are sore is fine. BMoney 0 Posted November 20, 2007 whatever you do...make sure u stretch before and after each workout... ive seen people try to over work it and then they just stop and walk to the shower to leave..you need to stretch...go for a cool down walk..whatever...
