DixieDevils 0 Posted August 6, 2008 Per Rotoworld, Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post reports ... Denver Broncos rookie RB Ryan Torain, who earlier this week was listed 3rd on the team's depth chart and who had been running well during training camp, was carted off the field during practice Wednesday morning. He was crunched during a 9-on-7 drill by linebackers Nate Webster and Jamie Winborn. He appeared dazed as trainers took him off the field. He staggered over to the shady end zone on the south side of the field where he laid for 10 minutes with draped wet towels over him to cool him down and allow him to regain his composure. He then rode in the passenger seat of the cart off to the medical room, but gave RB coach Bobby Turner a fist-bump before riding off. ... Note: I'm not at Broncos camp today and will be offline for a while this afternoon, but if I get an update before anyone gets one here, I'll post it.

Mike FF Today 728 Posted August 6, 2008 Denver Post: Torian Fractures Elbow Bad news just became worse for the Broncos offense Wednesday. Not only is the team dealing with the reality that star receiver Brandon Marshall will be suspended for two to three games, but rookie running back Ryan Torain could be out two to three months after suffering a fractured left elbow during the morning workout. jocstrap 8 Posted August 6, 2008 Do we dare bump up Selvin Young? nah never trust the Rat. But I might take a late round flyer on Hall. We had an early early draft. I took Henry Now this is great news as I just went and grabbed Hall! A possible week 3 starter
Rock Gossard 0 Posted August 6, 2008 I don't know about Selvin, but Alridge will probably skyrocket after Saturday's game.
DixieDevils 0 Posted August 7, 2008 I heard a report earlier that Torain could be put on IR. The move makes sense, even if he only misses the first 2-4 games of the season. Why? Because the team could then keep 5 RBs: Selvin Young, Andre Hall, Anthony Alridge, Cecil Sapp and Michael Pittman. Plus it would have Torain on IR. Not sure if this will happen, but wouldn't be a surprise. On a personal note, this hurt. For the third year in a row I've lost a rookie to injury -- Chad Jackson ('06), Kenny Irons ('07) and now Ryan Torain ('08). I'm going to give away my rookie draft picks or ask for full medical reports on these guys before drafting them. I'll post my rookie picks next year so everyone can have them and know who to avoid for injuries.

Joey Gladstone 33 Posted August 7, 2008 Some substantial fantasy news buried under the weight of Brett Favre's massive ego. I had Torain high atop my sleeper list. I will now not draft a Denver RB. Besides Pittman in the last round
