Hey Cuse9...Just wanna say you the man..

I just finished my draft with the 5th pick in a 16 team league and here's how it went...

Peyton Manning 1st

Marques Colston 2nd

Calvin Johnson 3rd

Reggie Bush 4th

Dallas Clark 5th

Thomas Jones 6th

Colts D/ST 7th

Chester Taylor 8th

Anthony Gonzalez 9th

Tavaris Jackson 10th

James Hardy 11th

Steve Slaton 12th

Neil Rackers 13th

So my qb's are P Manning and T Jackson

rb's are R Bush, T Jones, C Taylor and S Slaton

wr's are M Colston. Cal Johnson, A Gonzalez and J Hardy

te is Dallas Clark

K and defense is N Rackers and Colts

Slim pickins in a 16 team league. I waited on a RB because I wanted Manning. I really wanted Romo, but he went overall #1. Do I need to trade somewhere to make it stronger? Players are really limited in a 16 team league, especially during a draft.

For a sixteen team league you did great! Gonzo in the ninth! With the age and questions surrounding Marvin, you got a steal on that one. I really don't see where you could improve. You have good depth and good starters everywhere! TJones hasn't looked good at all, but it's definitly his job to lose. It would have been nice to handcuff him with Washington or Chatman, but having Slaton and Chester is better than handcuffing anyway. That team is better than mine and my league is only 14 teams!

It would be nice to have a better #1 RB, but your other positions should make up for it and Bush has the potential to be a #1 back if you get points for receptions. Seriously, I think you did well every round. You got great value and a well rounded team.

Great job and good luck.

Solid! Vanden Bosch is a beast, I really like him. Barnett is everywhere on the field which gives him plenty of opportunities to get int's, fumbles, and tackles. Offensivly everything looks great. It would be nice to have better reserves at rb, but Chris Johnson looks to carry about 50% of the load in Tenn, so he should be a great fill in. Washington and Watson prolly wont' give you much unless there is an injury ahead of them, but if there is they would definitly be nice backs to have. Everywhere else you look very good....starters and bench. Pending on your points, DB's are usually the worst scorers.....I would find a LB, DL to take Taylor's spot. None the less.....great team.

Good job!!

Hey Cuse I posted a question that ended up being the last one on page 3. Could you take a look at it? I can easily understand how it could have been overlooked.

Thanks for your advice Cuse9, you just made my day with your comments. I was thinking about getting Hightower, because I don't think too highly of E James this year. Some fantasy columnists think he will steal goal line carries from him. From what I hear, Hightower has been looking real good in the preseason. A crap shoot I guess. Thanks buddy.

Glad to see you back Cuse. Bench isn't very deep in a 12 team league. It's a standard scoring non ppr league. Team is listed below. Would you look at dropping Bradshaw for Washington, F, Jackson or Kevin Jones. Thought Bradshaw would be a nice one if and when Jacobs goes down, but now i'm not so sure. What are your feelings on James Jones as a number 4 bye week receiver that i'll need in week 5? Drop Meachem?

Garrard, Warner

Portis, Thomas Jones, Bush, Betts, Bradshaw

Holt, Cotchery, White, Meachem

Davis

Steelers D

Rackers

I have the 5th pick. I think it will go something like this: 1. LT 2. AP 3. Westbrook and i think Brady maybe at 4 if not a pick before. If so who would you choose at the 5 spot: Addai, Sjax, Barber, Lynch, or someone else?

Greetings, Cuse9.

I had my draft last night and I am quite concerned about my WRs. Players seemed to go higher than their ADP and I am interested to know your perspective on what I can do to shore up my WR unit.

Details of the league:

  • 12 team
  • Keeper league, can keep up to 3, max 2 per position
  • Start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, WR/RB, TE, K, DST

Points for:

PaInt - Passing Interception -20 points

PaTD - Passing TD 30 points

PaYd - Passing Yards 1+ PaYd = 1 point for every 1 PaYd

ReTD - Receiving TD 60 points

ReYd - Receiving Yards 1+ ReYd = 2 points for every 1 ReYd

Recpt - Reception 2 points

RuTD - Rushing TD 60 points

RuYd - Rushing Yards 1+ RuYd = 2 points for every 1 RuYd

KR/PR are also very valuable as we get 1 pt per return yard and 60 points for a TD. MJD benefits from this on my team.

So, I kept Lynch, MJD and Brees. With the 11th pick out of 12 in the fourth round (when all owners had 3 players and the draft started in a serpentine format), I chose Santonio Holmes and Winslow on the first turn and DeAngelo Williams and Nate Burleson on the second turn (I am hoping Burleson returns kicks again while serving as the Seahawks' WR1).

I also picked up Berrian, Porter, Bryant Johnson, Vincent Jackson and Meacham as WRs.

Will these receivers work? I have Ray Rice and Ahmad Bradshaw and have already talked to another owner about needing these backups as he has McGahee and Jacobs. However his best WRs are Ward and Roddy White.

Thoughts?

Also, what do you hear about the Titans DST? I grabbed them late. I was banking on getting the Bills and Saints DST to rotate depending on matchups, but the Bills went in the 12th round.

a follow up to my earlier question about my keeper league draft...

getting closer to draft day. I was banking on AJ being in the draft pool but the final owner is keeping AJ over any of his RB's. prolly the choice I would have made as well.

the best available WR's are now Holt, Marshall, Calvin, Holmes, Burress, Welker with some guys like Cotchery, Jennings, Bowe, White also out there.

My 3 keepers are the 3 stud RB's and my plan was to take a WR at the 9th pick. Was hoping for it to be AJ. I think I still have to make it a WR so my first question is which of the ones listed above should it be? Im currently leaning toward Marshall with his suspension being reduced to 1 game.

I own 4 of the first 24 picks in the draft. I had planned on grabbing my top QB and TE among these picks along with 2 WR's but now that AJ is out of the mix the WR pool looks that much weaker and I am wondering if i need to grab 3 WR's with these picks.

Best QB's available: Roethlisberger, Anderson, Cutler, Favre........ I don't like Anderson and I am used to rotating less than stellar QB's so I was thinking this year id like to make sure I have a good one meaning I would have to pick Big Ben.

All the TE's are available but I have my eye on Winslow. Id be satisfied with Witten Winslow or Gates.

second question is can i take Big Ben and Winslow among my first 4 picks or do I have to take 3 WR's? If i have to take 3 WR's im guessing I pass on Winslow and take a TE later. Big Ben represents the better value I think.

cuse, need your help

Pick 2

Portis Vs. NYG

Graham Vs. NO

Jones-Drew VS. TENN

I am thinking Portis and Graham since TENN defense is pretty good. Do you think Graham is the safer play?

First time in a live draft and realized that I picked 4 players from the Colts - Addai, Wayne, Clark, Gonzalez. Should I try and trade any of them?

Who is the better choice for my 2nd RB to start - McFadden or Thomas Jones?

My third WR choices to start are A Gonzalez or D Mason?

Thanks

My draft is a high number of keepers, PPR league and no IDP. We're drafting in an hour.

I have the 6th pick in the 1st 4 rounds (keeper rounds) and then pick 10 and 1 from rounds 5-18.

My QB and 3 RB's are locked up. I'll need starting WR's. Assuming Marques Colston is gone, based on my projections the following WR's will be available when I make my first pick:

Santonio Holmes

Roy Williams

Plaxico Burress

Greg Jennings

Jerrico Cotchery

Anquan Boldin

Kellen Winslow might also be available.

Anyone think I should take Winslow over any of these WR's?

Greetings allmighty Cuse-

I need to drop 2 players of the following 3. With Chad's shoulder injury it's looking like I need to keep either Hardy or DeSean as insurance. Keep who of the three? (Team listed below)

Rudi Johnson - RBs are helpful but I think I'm covered

DeSean Jackson - I'm leaning here

James Hardy - he was my 1st choice as my #4 WR but Desean is coming on w/ Curtis out

Thanks!

My Team

-----------

Delhomme

MBIII, Perry, Selvin, Ronnie, Ricky, Rudi

R Moss, Colston, Chad, Hardy, DeSean

Gates

K - will pickup Saints PK after they cut on Sat

DST - will play matchups of who's on WW

Great to see you back Cuse9, love the insight - here's mine and thanks....

0.5 ppr, yards and 6pts /td.

I can still get E Royal and drop Mason, I'm leaning towards Royal as I am more confident in the pass game at Denver. Free pickup no waiver. Royal or mason would be my bye week fill in or flex if needed.
