Lesman 1 Posted October 13, 2008 Thanks to the rushing TDs, Rogers has outscored Cutler every week, except week 2, yet I keep starting Cutler. Over the last 2 weeks alone, I've left 40 points on my bench by sticking with Cutler. Granted the shoulder injury was a concern the last couple weeks, but not anymore. Mr. Rogers, meet my starting lineup. Mr. Cutler, meet my bench. Now watch Cutler lightup the Pats next Monday night...
Phil Simms 11 127 Posted October 13, 2008 Granted the shoulder injury was a concern the last couple weeks maybe this is why, but I am not sure why you make certain decisions.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted October 13, 2008 Welcome to FF. A good analogy of picking the right matchup is like driving in traffic. No telling which lane will be the fastest so you might as well pick one and stick with it. You could always trade one to improve another position and eliminate the decision altogether. This week I had a gut feeling Schaub would outperform Warner but didn't act on it. Left 13 points on the board but knew Warner was good for at least 20+. 16 and 33 0 Posted October 13, 2008 Thanks to the rushing TDs, Rogers has outscored Cutler every week, except week 2 Huh? Depending on passing TD values being 4 point or 6 point, and assuming -2 for turnovers: Week 1 Cutler 300 yards passing 2 TDs 9 rushing = 20.90 or 24.90 Rogers 178 yards passing 1 TD 35 rushing 1 TD = 20.62 or 22.62 Week 2 Cutler 350 yards passing 4 TDs 1 INT 6 rushing = 30.60 or 38.60 Rogers 328 yards passing 3 TDd 25 rushing = 25.62 or 31.62 Week 3 Cutler 264 yards passing 2 TDs 1 INT 7 rushing = 17.26 or 21.26 Rogers 290 yards passing 0 TD 35 rushing 1 TD = 18.60 or 20.60 Week 4 Cutler 361 yards passing 1 TDs 2 INT 6 rushing = 15.04 or 17.04 Rogers 165 yards passing 2 TDs 3 INT 8 rushing = 9.40 or 13.40 I guess I don't understand your scoring system...in my leagues Cutler outscored Rogers in 3 of the first 4 games...Week 3 was a wash depending on the settings. Lesman 1 Posted October 13, 2008 Our league scoring is a little quarky. I guess I should have embellished, but I was really just venting. Any TD outside of a player primary responsibility are double. QB gets 6 for a pass TD, but 12 for a rush TD. as does a RB get 6 for a rush TD, but 12 for a rec TD. Add in a +3 point bonus for TDs over 40yds. Rewards versatility. Minus 1 per INT/Fumble. In my league: Week1 Rodgers - 31pts Cutler - 31pts Week2 Rodgers - 36 Cutler - 43 Week3 Rodgers - 28pts Cutler - 24 Week4 Rodgers - 22 Cutler - 22 Week5 Rodgers - 36pts Cutler - 18 Week6 Rodgers - 39 Cutler - 22 Maybe I jumped to conclusions. It;s not that bad, as weeks 1 & 4 were a wash. Still Rodgers has been huge the last 2 weeks, and teams seem to have figured out how to slow down Cutler and Co. by doubling Marshall. I'll see how Royal and Scheffler are next week before making a decision.
LSUtiger 9 Posted October 13, 2008 Probably for some of the same reasons I keep starting McNabb over Rodgers...because you don't fully trust Rodgers yet he continually outscores your starter every single week. I think I'll be starting Rodgers until further notice.
PackYourNut 47 Posted October 13, 2008 I've been starting Warner over him too... but NOT THIS WEEK! alsowarnerisonabye.
