Tyler Thigpen: Who are you starting him over?

Recommended Posts

Well i drafted Big Ben and have been very loyal to him untill now...Im done with his ######... Im starting Thigpin over Big Ben, Campbell, and culpepper...I also had the chance to trade for either matt Ryan or Quinn and i chose to start him over both them to...I think this guy is the real deal and having LJ back cant hurt him, but only help...

This is a question of interest to me.

I'm in a keeper league, and I just traded yesterday for Matt Ryan. I grabbed Thigpen last weekend, and I was planning on starting him over Big Ben and Campbell. I originally traded for Ryan purely as keeper material, but I've been thinking (overthinking) about this week. Thigpen has the Saints, but Ryan has Denver.

I think they'll be pretty close, but any little bit helps. What do you guys think, Thigpen or Ryan this week? Definately not Campbell or Big Ben over either of them.

Thigpen gets the start over Tony Romo and Brady Quinn this week...Thigpen will light up the NO defense...Sleeper at WR this week is Marc Bradley...

Between those two, I'd go with Thigpen. It's unclear how effective LJ is going to be, just coming back to the team. They've changed the offense pretty significantly since he's been out. What is clear is that the Carolina running game is going to play big. To me that says that Thigpen will have more of the game on his shoulders than Delhomme will.

I may have just answered my own dilemma between Thigpen and Ryan, too. Denver is much worse against the run than New Orleans is. I may be starting Thigpen over Matt Ryan this week.

Thigpen has been a very nice surprise, for sure. I'd have no problems starting him over Campbell, but I'd think twice about starting him over Delhomme, Big Ben, Pennington. If you start him over Romo, Rodgers, McNabb, you need to have your head examined. It is possible to over-think in this game.

That's not a knock on Thigpen or his favorable match-up and I'm in no way guaranteeing that anyone will outscore anyone. But if you make the decision to go with the new hot player, over time, you'll more than likely get bitten right in the ass.

Good points, also the Saints-Chiefs game will prob be a shootout while CAR just steamrolls the Lions.

I don't thig I'll take the odds against that. Romo's bound to be rusty, Witten's banged up, and TO's an aging toad. I also thig Thig's got a chance to outscore Romo.
