So I was drinking 7 and 7s with a couple buddies after work today, and one of them tells me that 7 and 7 is a "borderline girlie drink." Now, I don't normally care what people think about what I drink. If I want a focking Mai Tai then I will have a focking Mai Tai. But I was fairly sure that 7 and 7 was a manly drink. Maybe not the manliest of manly, but safely away from the "girlie drink" zone.

 

So what say you, was I right in telling my buddy that he had no focking clue what he was talking about?

My mom and Aunt always order 7 and 7 I have ordered them on occasion. What the hell do I know? I have ordered grasshoppers and peach blow fizzes.

I certainly am not looking for a fight. I don't know know why I'm answering this query. Hell I don't know why I'm even on the internet on a Friday night. But I will tell you my experience JFYI okay.

 

Several years ago. Okay many years ago I was a beer drinker and sort of looking for a hard liquor drink. My sister was visiting and she mentioned that her drink of choice was the 7 & 7. It sounded cool and Mickey Mantle was one of my favoritr players. So I go out with a group of pals and I order the 7 & 7. First my buddy laughs at me for it. Then he tells the others what I'm drinking and they raze me really good. Before you know it the whole damn bar is ribbing me including some chicks.

 

Now I never ordered that drink again in my life but I still for the life of me can't figure out why it's a girlie drink but evidently it is.

So I guess it is a girlie drink. That's interesting, because nobody would claim that Jack and Coke is a girlie drink (even though some chicks drink it). So how come mixing whiskey with cola is manly, but mixing it with 7Up is not? They are both soft drinks, and its not like the caramel coloring in cola somehow makes it a more manly soft drink than 7Up.

The point of drinking is to get drunk. I've never understood why the fock it matters what you drink to get there.

 

There are very few beers that I actually like. Liquor is quicker...if I have to get a sipper, why not enjoy the damn thing? My friends never give me ###### because I can out drink any of 'em with the real stuff.
